Know of Any ADN Programs With No Wait List?

Published

A friend of mine is currently an experience corpsman with the navy. He has done two tours in Iraq, one in Afghanistan and has several years experience working is various hospital units including (currently) ICU. He will soon be leaving the navy and is free to move to any state to go to school. He is looking for an ADN program that he could do in 2 or less years. He has already taken basic classes like A&P I&II, micro, chem, English, etc with good grades. He is looking for a public, fully accreted community college with no wait list.

If anyone knows of any please let me know and I will pass on to him.

Thanks in advance.

Ventura Community College, close to Port Hueneme CB base great surf & beaches. I applied March and got in for Jan 2010

Most of the CC's in Oregon accept on merit....so it would really depend on how good his good grades are (Is good straight B's, a mix of A's & B's, all A's?).

Does anyone know if this is true. If someone is a veteran, would they get priority over other applicants. I actually received a phone call from the last school on my list and they asked if i was a veteran.

Thanks

Would depend on the school's point system. Do they publish their point system? If so, you could check on that.

unfortunately they do not go by a point system. As long as you meet their requirements, then you can apply. The selection process is based on GPS in eng, and science course along with repetitions of classes. My GPA is on point and i have no repititions in any pre-reqs so. I've been my the mail box ever after noon, waiting and waiting.

Unfortunately, I don't know of any CC's with no wait list. However, when your friend gets his RN, tell him that the VA hospital system gives hiring preference to vets and his years of military service will count toward retirement.

SunnyCalif, Do you know if vets also get priority over other applicants of an ADN program?
