Charles Cullen used the excuse of euthanasia to justify murder. The people he murdered did not plead or ask to be taken from this world.
Here's some more info on this case and a few others:

The sad fact is that he was allowed to continue working despite the fact that there were those that worked with him that had reported that he may be responsible for patient deaths:
Likewise in 2002, nurses at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem, Pa., had warned the state nursing board, law enforcement, the county coroner, and even Cullen's next employer that he could be a killer.
What is reprehensible is that for years Charles Cullen went from job to job and despite suspicions nothing was done and information to potential employers was withheld.
However, hospital administrators had declined to pass the word along via a negative reference. One nurse was even fired for her part in whistle-blowing.
As his debt mounted, he moved from one hospital to another, and at St. Luke's in Bethlehem, PA, he left to avoid an investigation into the deaths of 69 patients and into a mysterious box of heart medication found in a disposal bin. While the coroner determined at the time that there was no evidence of criminal conduct in any of the cases, many of those deaths will be reviewed again in light of Cullen's confession.
He used Digoxin. We talked about this at work the other night. The bad thing was we were talking mercy killings etc. and how people have used epi, dig, and K+ to do it. Then we stopped because we thought, if a patient was awake and able to hear us, they'd call their family and say "GET ME OUT OF HERE!!!!" Funny but not funny...
