I will be starting the LPN Evening program October 26th. I am just wondering if they are planning to use the same books this quarter for the 1st quarter as they did last quarter....I can wait until the 6th when the book list was out, but I was going to try and get a head start and order them now.
Also, I was thinking about getting an Ipod Touch for when I start clinicals, are those allowed?
as far as i know the first quarters are still using the same books as what we used back when we did...i definitly think you would be safe to go on and buy your books..dont buy them from edmap though..get them on halfprice.. and about the itouch thing.. honestly you arnt allowed to have your phones at any clinical site..and you really wont have time to do anything except your packets working with your patients..
Ok, I have researched about 10 different used text book sites and half.com is pretty much the cheapest. I didn't want to go ahead with getting my books and then they say they are going to use something else.

wishinguponastar,
I actually received my book list in the mail a few weeks ago for the day program. I do know they said the books have not changed but you may want to give the school a call and find out. Good luck and I hope you find out soon!
Yeah I called on Friday and she told me if will be the same books, so I went ahead and ordered them. I ordered them from half.com and came in at $147! So I am pretty happy about that. I am all ready to go, just waiting for Orientation!

Did anyone get the varicella vaccines I had the titer done only to find out I had no immunity even though I had the chickenpox really bad as a child but I am trying to find the cheapest place to have the shots done.
Jsadler,
I got my Varicella Boosters at the Floyd County Health Dept. It is behind the Floyd Memorial Hospital and they only charge $5! Super cheap!
wow that is not bad do you have to be a resident of Indiana I wonder if they are that cheap in KY
Nope, you just call and make an appointment. I got all of my shots there, but I have to go somewhere else and get my physical. I work downtown so it was a quick jump over the bridge, plus I was having trouble finding any place in Louisville to do it. I was able to get in the same day and the lady that does them (her name is Robin) is super nice.
Thanks I will be calling over there one day next week to get that taken care of I is going to save me alot of money Do they do the MMR I also need to get one dose of that too and one more TB skin test.
Yep, they do all of that. Everything you need except the physical!
Glad I could help!
