Kennesaw State University Spring 2016

Who is applying this Spring 2015 to get accepted next spring 2016?!!!? I am really nervous about the TEAS Exam. Has anyone taken it this year? How hard did you think it was?

Also what grades have you received in your classes and how did you do on the TEAS??

I applied for fall 2015 and got an 86 on my TEAS. Study the book they recommend and you should do fine.

I am applying for Spring '16 as well. I haven't taken the TEAS yet but I hear that the ati study guide is extremely helpful! I'm applying to other programs like GSU and GRU as well. The stats seem a *little* less competitive for the spring semesters. Spring 2016 students in GA should stay in touch as the application process continues!

Edit-- I don't think GRU has a spring semester opening but if anybody knows better please correct me!

Wow! I can't believe I'm finally starting the application process. I spent years looking on the site scrolling through post of schools I was interested in. I'm so excited to finally be posting 😊

I've applied to both the traditional and accelerated program. I'm hoping to get into one of these, but who knows what the application pool will look like this spring. My fingers are crossed! I took the teas in February and made an 88.7. At first I was happy with the score but looking through this site has got me thinking I may want to retake. Especially because my cumulative GPA is not as competitive from my first two years of undergrad.😕

I didn't find the teas to be exceptionally difficult, however I really recommend taking your time and rereading questions. I was the last one in the room. On every section I always caught myself making a small error due to reading the question incorrectly. Had I not gone back and reread I would not have caught the small mistakes!

Good luck to everyone! Please keep sharing!

I felt the same exact way. I made an appointment to take the TEAS, read through some of the forums on here, freaked out, and decided I needed to study a little more beforehand. It set everything back a semester but I would rather do things correctly and slowly than rush and make any permanent mistakes. Anyway, the forums probably make the process seem more intimidating than it actually is! Regardless, an 88.7 is a competitive score that many would be happy to have. Congrats!!

I am applying for Spring 2016! I had an 84.7 on my first TEAS attempt. I ordered a study guide on Amazon and it was very helpful.

I am re-applying. I applied for Fall, and didn't make the cut. I made a 91 on the TEAS.

Hi! I'm applying for spring 16 as well. I took my teas and got a 95! If you study the ATI test book you really will be more than prepared. It also helps to do the practice exams online. Does anybody know when we should expect to hear back with admissions? I know the app is due the end of this month. So exciting

also, does anybody know how they calculate gpa? I know Georgia state does program gpa and science rather than overall (so electives, languages, etc don't count)

One of the advisors told me "by the end of October". Such a long wait! I have also heard they score by your best 5 science or math scores, best 7 prereqs, and then overall GPA and TEAS score are the two factors that have the least impact. This is only what I've heard in this forum though. But the advisor did tell me I needed the best math and science scores I could possibly get, so that type of scoring makes sense.

I am joining the ranks of spring 2016 applicants! Who all is applying for the accelerated program?

They look at your GPA in your 5/7 Math and Sciences (this weighs the heaviest). Then they look at your GPA in the 7/12 Prereqs. The last two factors are your cumulative GPA (which includes ALL credits earned, even if they don't count towards your nursing degree and any repeats you may have) and the TEAS score.

I am applying for accelerated! Also applying at GSU. Anyone else here trying Georgia State for Spring '16? I haven't started their application process yet because when I go to choose my intended major it still says Nursing Fall 2015; no option for Spring 2016 yet so I am holding off for now. Being a transfer is a pain.
