Kennesaw State University Fall 2015

Published

Is anyone planning on applying to KSU for Fall 2015?

They do consider your total cumulative grade, but it is only a portion of the overall decision. Believe me I am not comfortable with mine either! I didn't know what I wanted to do and didn't think i'd be back in school - 10 years ago! :) A 3.1 from undergrad in Psychology has me nervous. I have worked very hard since then. Just wish they saw how much work experience I have in healthcare. Its strange they didn't want a resume or personal statement

The cumulative part would be any credits you earned from your previous degree that was transferred and put towards this degree (general core, etc). I emailed Fran and asked for my cumulative GPA and she got right back to me. You may want to shoot her an email for some piece of mind. :)

Have any of you applied for Georgia State? I can't find a board on this site for them. Which is very strange. Wondering if you know anything about their timeline!

I applied for Georgia State (Fall 2015) and received my acceptance notice at the very beginning of March. As far as I heard this past week, all their acceptance letters have been sent out. Not sure if wait list letters are still being sent. Did you apply to Georgia State?

Hey! Thanks for the information. I did apply, but haven't received any correspondence one way or another. I might need to check my address.... Thanks! I will call them

@BrittanyNycole - yes, I would definitely call them. Good luck!

@JenniferJones 10. Can you please share your stats and teas score when you applied to GSU.? Thanks

KSU and GSU calculated my cumulative GPA's very differently (I already have a BS).

TEAS - 94.7, both schools math/science pre-req GPA - 4.0, GSU program GPA - 4.0, KSU cumulative GPA - 3.45 (too bad they don't consider my Bachelors is in Chemical Engineering from GA Tech...)

I applied for KSU accelerated program (still hoping to be accepted to KSU). GSU - I applied for and was accepted to their traditional program. Submitted my GSU application 1/27/15; received acceptance notice 3/6/15.

Update-I just hung up with someone at KSU in the nursing department. She said the committee has not even met yet and that the acceptance letters will go out the last week of April, first week of May. I was trying to at least gauge an idea of what TEAS scores the accepted students have since mine is in the 70's, and I know that's likely too low to get in, that way I would know what to sign up for this summer. I still need CHEM 1152, so if I don't get in I can wait to take it in the Fall instead of cram it into an 8 week summer semester, since it would have to be done if I was accepted. Anyways, she said she didn't even know the TEAS averages because the committee (which she said she is not a part of) hasn't got that far with the applications yet...REALLY?!!

@BrittanyNycole I completely agree! I wish they considered work experience as well. I have 17 years in as a Medical Assistant and have been working in a local ER for a while now. I did terrible on the TEAS, but scores don't tell everything... Good luck!

Hey, how did you hear about the group advisement?
