Hey!

Has anyone applied to KSU for the Spring 2014 program?

Is the suspense killing anyone else?? After reading all the forums from past years, I expected to at least know whether we got an interview or not by now. I'm really hoping they send them out this week.

@mack13 - you're dying over there too? Lol! To say I check this forum every 30 min waiting for someone to say they got a letter is an understatement. Letters were out by Aug 29 last fall so the anxiety is driving me up the wall! Are you applying anywhere else?

LETTERS HAVE BEEN SENT OUT!!!!! My mom just called me and said I got one in the mail today! She's driving all the way over to campus so I can open it!! I live in East Cobb just as a reference for the mailing area. I guess I'm the first one?! I was one of the first last semester to receive my letter as well...crazy!

Thanks kcox36! Have you checked in owlexpress if you can sign up for an interview? It's still closed for me I hope that's not bad news!

McEm I think they look at everything and that you got A's through everything is amazing and shows you have great determination! These questions are a list I found before I took my interview. I prepared answers to them all and even though the actual questions were different, I used some of the answers and stories I had prepared.

•They ask about cheating, care, organization, integrity etc...

•The interview is centered around what they believe to be important qualities to a nurse: leadership, customer service oriented, compassion, ethics, problem-solving, etc...

1.Why have you chosen nursing, what lead to here?

2.What experience do you have in the medical field, if any?

3.Name an ethical situation you have been in and how you handled it.

4.Name a situation that influenced a change in your personal morals.

5.Describe a time when you showed compassion.

6.Tell me about a time when you had to make a difficult decision.

7.Tell me a situation where you showed integrity.

8.Tell me a situation where you had to be flexible.

9.Tell me a situation where you showed good decision making.

10.Tell us about a time you had a difficult patient/customer and how you resolved it.

11.What are your strengths and weaknesses?

12.How do you time manage?

13.Tell us about a time when you made a mistake.

14.Tell us about a time you showed leadership.

15.Why do you feel you would be a good nurse?

16.Nursing school is hard, how do you know you are prepared to be a nurse?

17.Tell me about yourself (Relate this to WHY you are here, interviewing for KSU nursing, etc)

18.Why have you chosen KSU?

19.Tell me a time when you were faced with a difficult situation and how you handled it.

20.Tell me about a time when a coworker was not pulling his/her weight on your team.

21.What would make us pick you over someone else for this opportunity?

22.What do you think makes a good nurse?

•Have a few questions prepared to ask them at the end!

These are the questions that I had remembered and written down. Be sure to say a lot about you and nursing at the beginning because that's your only chance to talk about you!

2. Do you have any experience in the healthcare field?

3. Tell us of a time when your attention to detail helped solve a problem?

4. Tell us of a situation where you showed compassion?

5. Tell us about a time where you made a mistake and how you handled it?

Nursing school takes a lot of time, how do you manage your time?

6. Tell us about a time you had to deal with a difficult person and how you handled it?

Congrats hopefulnyrsejoy! That's awesome. My owl express hasn't changed yet, but I assure you I will check it every hour so I'll post here and Facebook when it does!

My GPA last semester when I was given an interview was a 3.73 and a 77 on TEAS.

My GPA this time around is a 3.79 and 89.3 on TEAS.

Stay positive guys! We all have worked so hard thus far...DON'T GIVE UP!

I just got my letter for an interview. I am shaking I am so happy. After being denied for the fall semester this is great news. My GPA is 3.5 TEAS 89.3 I am new to this thread and wish everyone the best of luck. Hopefully we will all be classmates really soon! I live in Smyrna, maybe people that live really close to the school are getting their letters tomorrow? Oh and thank you thank you for whoever sent the practice interview questions!!

I wonder if mail gets to you quicker when you live closer to Atlanta. When I lived in midtown, I got things lightning fast. Here, it's very slow. I'm also tempted to check my neighbor's mailbox because the mail lady has mixed us up quite a bit in the past. But, I will ask them when they get home if they got anything for me.
