Hello, my name is Talisha Rodgers. I'm 26yrs old the mother of two wonderful little boys (3 &1) I recently started to apply at different school for LPN. I live in Elgin, IL and my Community College(E.C.C.) waiting list is almost 3 years. My mother who an RN thought I should try a Chicago City College. After a week I have decided on Kennedy King College. Just wondering if any of you ever attend and how was the teacher? the class size etc? I still have pre-req to take which I am taking this summer. Just a little advice would be great!!! If you know of any family/friend that attend KKC for Nursing please share. :bowingpur
Thanks You and Be Blessed
Hi All!
I am going to an info session at KKC this Thursday for the LPN program. Can anybody give me some info on the current LPN program at KKC? Anyone currently enrolled? Also, how is the campus? If I do get in would it be safe for me to take the green line there? I have a lot of people telling me that it is *NOT* a safe area and that I should dive. Is there a parking lot? Anyone going to the info session on Thursday and want to meet up? :-)
Hey, I'm in Wright's RN completion program (first class). The classes are usually 2 lecture days a week (sometimes 3 as it was in the summer) and then clinicals once a week. It is not that bad actually, just keep on going because they are starting a BSN completion there too! Good luck ask me anything else you may need!

This message is directed for isaberrie I am interested in the lpn-rn program at wright college. My question to you did you completed the lpn program at wright or from another college? And what do you recommend to other nursing students to prepare themselves before applying to rn program?
Hi Mariposa. I did complete the LPN at Wright and then moved directly into the RN program a few months later. I do know however that they will take students from other schools for the RN completion program. There's not much I can recommended before applying to the RN program. Have you completed the LPN program elsewhere? You will have to take an "entrance exam" but its sort of a basic skills test with math, reading, writing, grammar just stuff like that. I'm sorry, I know that isn't much of a help, but there's not much you can do. I just finished the RN now and am studying for my Hesi exam. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Hi NursEMMIE! Did you do the LPN program at KKC as well, or just the LPN-RN bridge? I'm tossing around the idea of taking the LPN program there, do you know if they have a waiting list? Also, is it a safe place to go to school? I know the neighbor hood is pretty rough, but how is the school? It's not far off the expressway, right?
I am a student at kennedy king college, i know i'm posting this really late, but just wanted to let you know they have a wonderful nursing program. I am in the LPN program, i graduate august 13th 2010. The teachers are wonderful, and so is the hands on experience. I hope you have started school and doing great, if not, go check out Kennedy King. God Bless!!!!
