Keiser Winter 2017

Published

I'm starting the Keiser University Nursing Program in eleven days! I'm nervous because I know it's so fast paced. Is there anyone who has gone through the Keiser program who can give me any tips? I've taken all my Gen Eds at Keiser, so I'm familiar with the one class at at time format.

I was told in March 2017 I was accepted into the fort lauderdale campus for the accelerated program. I was told I would be on a waiting list unitl January 2019 and I got a call in november 2017 that I can begin january 2018. I started the program in january and the program is 16 month. It is a lot of work but so far so good I'm passing all of my classes

Hello,I am doing my last prerequisite at HCC at the moment. I was thinking of Applying to Keiser as plan B. How have you felt about the program so far? The good, the bad,and the ugly of it. One of my main concerns is I have heard bad things about their clinicals.

It's good over all most of the clinical groups go to broward health. No real issues there just keep in mind it's pca job your there to do. The program is hard you have 6 classes the first semester and test quizzes weekly. Online stimulation, term papers, charting, care plans. People are going to their car to sleep during lunch because you can't sleep at nights. I have spent 3 days no sleep in this program. Good thing is it's all over in 16months. It's all worth it

Hello dear, I just came across your post and was wondering how is everything going at keiser and is it all what you expected. I'm comcodering going to keiser for the AS Nursing program but I just wanted current honest opinion about the school

Starting core on May 7,2018 in West Palm...anyone else starting at Keiser this year?

I just signed up with Keiser in Orlando. I am taking my pre req classes now. First semester was Life Span which is really interesting and not a bad class to start with.

Does anyone know if there is still a long waiting list for the AS or BSN nursing program at Keiser Fort Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines or West Palm Beach campus? Also, are you absolutely required to take their entrance exam when applying? If I've taken mostly all my pre requisites including A&P I and II from Broward College are you still required to take an entrance exam?

Hello maugustin!

I believe the Ft. Lauderdale FastTrack BSN program is still accepting for May 2019, but they're filling up fast and will soon push back to August 2019. There are two Keiser campuses in West Palm Beach. I am applying to the Flagship Residential campus, and they're still not full for August 2018 for the Traditional BSN program. The entrance exam required is called the Wonderlic. You have 12 minutes to get through 50 questions, all based on math, grammar and vocab skills, and you need to get at least 23 right for the FastTrack BSN, and at least 25 right for the Traditional BSN. I think the Wonderlic is required for the application process; however, it thankfully does not cost anything at all. I didn't study and ended up getting a 26 on my first try, so that was good for either the FastTrack or Traditional BSN.

Hi I noticed a few students attended or will be attending Keiser in Orlando. I'm all the way in fort lauderdale and looking to attend the nursing program there. I had a question for the graduates or students who are currently attending. Did you do your prerequisites at Keiser or did you complete them at a community college being that's its cheaper? If so, did you have any problem transferring any of those credits over to Keiser or were they accepted just fine? I'm being told two different things from the Keiser advisor and she's pushing me towards taking them at Keiser saying that they can't guarantee the remaining classes I have to take will be transferable from the community college. However all the other credits that I took at that community college were transferable. So that was a contradicting statement. I feel like I'm just trying to be robbed of my money. Can anyone please share any insight on this matter. Thanks in advance!!!

Maugustin,

You are not required to take your classes at Keiser. The admissions advisors are required to implore you to do so, but you can take your prerequisites at any reputable school. I've taken classes at BC and FAU, and all class were accepted. If you are applying to a program that has a waitlist, then they push for you to take the classes with Keiser even more. The reason behind this is that they try to keep your spot in line for the waitlist. If you were to leave after submitting your application in order to finish your prerequisite classes elsewhere, you will lose your spot and have to reapply all over again.

dianuhannalisa,

Thank you for clarifying that information for me. I also have another question, not sure if you have the answer to it but do you happen to know how long the Wonderlic test you are required to take at Keiser is good for? I missed it by one question and have to retake it. However, I am going to start taking the last prerequisites I need at BC before transferring to the nursing program at Keiser. If I were to take the Wonderlic test now would it still be good until next year when I apply for the Nursing Program or should I hold off on taking it now?
