It's good over all most of the clinical groups go to broward health. No real issues there just keep in mind it's pca job your there to do. The program is hard you have 6 classes the first semester and test quizzes weekly. Online stimulation, term papers, charting, care plans. People are going to their car to sleep during lunch because you can't sleep at nights. I have spent 3 days no sleep in this program. Good thing is it's all over in 16months. It's all worth it

I can only imagine, I start the program in the Fort Lauderdale campus January. Keeping my fingers crossed it will all work out. How long are the clinical and lecture days? Sorry to ask so many questions just checking to see what I just put myself into. Lol

Sorry your having such a hard time with your classmates. I'm stating the program in january. What was your schedule the first semester? How may days in the week and for how long each day did you have class?

I am half way through my first block at sheridan tech center lpn programs.. Things were a little shaky at first but now i think i found my study stategy. I wish I would have purchased a nursing critical thinking guide book prior to starting the program. Reading this will help you desifer the questions to enable you to answer correctly.. i study with a group of 4. we all know the same information but our grades are very different...understanding and answering critical thinking questions is deciding factor of your success....you can look it up on amazon and purchase it. It will make a world of difference for you... I learned it pretty quickly hards on but some people take months to fully understand the critical thinking aspect and you will then have an uphill battle to bring your grade point average up.

My school you have 24hours a semester excused now if you take an entire day off. that 7.5 hours right there. but a couple of hours here and there is okay make friends in class that you take notes from. Next monday my daughters school has a mothers day broteakfast I will be attending. it starts at 8 so i will be at school at about 10. thats just three hours of my 24. Make friends in class and get a tape recorder which a friend can record for you while your not there. doctor appointments are in afternoon or friday. i attend school m-th...... I lost the drive towards the beginning but now I love it..... but you must be sure this is what you want because without that drive you wont make it out...

no seats on this block but you can get in august...start getting background check and physicals shots (if you need any done). for the tb test you have to take the first then the second test 30 days later so you want to get a head start. you wont get into program without the two step tb test....your other shots first dose is enough...good luck on your teas

It okay so fare. I am only in block one...but I can tell you block 2 is where they wing out the strong from the weak...in block one it fundamental and a&p.. its not that bad but in block two your taking med-surg and pharm at the same time and that is going to be hell.. while at the library i speak to the other students and that is the hardest period of your life....then block 3 is maturnity, ped and gys. its not to bad ....i will keep you posted on progress.

Im in the lpn program. My school is from monday through thursday 7:15-3. in my mind I attend school until 5-5:30. with three kids at home doing homework there is not easy. my aunt says with them when they get off the bus from 2:30 to 6. So I put in 2-3 hours of study time in my school library even on clinical days...When i get home once they are in bed I just have to read ahead for next days lectures...It is doable depending on your childrens age. MY daughters are 10 and 9 and my son is 5. the bus picks them up in front of my house at 7am and drops them of at 2:30. My elderly aunt doesnt have to do much for them its just a matter of having an adult supervising them...so if you want to do it it is possible.

on the teas v at sheridan i think you need a 58 overall. I GOT an 82 i purchased the book from the ati website and studied the weekend before... it isnt hard just had to brush up on math.. language and reading is simple but the science is hard.. just make sure you do the science section on the book. good thing is you need a 58 overall so as long as you do well on the other sections science being low wont matter. they wanted a high school diploma but gpa didnt matter.

Well first day in...not too bad. mostly orientation and some left (current cna or hha) i have to take core classes. We logged in online to see where we will be taking test and getting all assignments...not bad at all. I find Sheridan pretty organized I like it..A lot of students are repeating so I can see that this will not be an easy road but I am willing to do anything in my power to do well. so good luck with tabe and hopefully you get to start in august.
