I'm going to an information session on Wednesday the 9th of of September and I'm a little anxious to get any information anyone may have. When I went there to get a brochure or any type of information, I was shocked to find there was nothing they could give me regarding the transition program from LPN to RN. I even looked online about any information regarding what is said at the information session & I can't find anything. I will be attending the Lakeland Florida campus hopefully January 2016. I have no prerequisites done at all! How will that effect me going in to the program? I am under the understanding that I need to pass the TEAS test. I know there are 8 prerequisites I need. I have tons of questions about what they will go over in the information session and if any of you know, please feel free to share. I would just like to know why I cannot get any information about getting started or the program itself until Wednesday at the information session. I would also like to know if during the core class of LPN to RN transition how long it takes and can I do my pre recs in concurrent to the nursing program? Thanks for your help & i look forward to reading about it.

I'm not sure about the LPN to RN route but would it be more cost effective to go to HCC if they have a program?
I attend Keiser Orlando and completed all of my pre reqs there and have had an amazing experience. I (finally) passed my TEAS as of yesterday (they look at it section by section as opposed to overall average. I passed all sections except for English and retook that on its own).
I turned in my 3 letters of recommendation as well as resume and have my interview with the director of nursing on Monday.
Maybe they will have you complete the prereqs and only do the advanced classes of nursing that you didn't get as an LPN. My backup plan is to get my LPN and then transition at the local CC here. After the info session compare your options at the Cc. there you may save time and money
Thanks for your feedback! I'm finishing up my prerequisites with only A&P left. I took the TEAS 6 today and passed. They no longer grade by sections but as a whole grade, which has worked out for a lot of students. I have my interview on Tuesday. How are you in this process now?
Congratulations! And good luck w your interview. I am now in my 3rd semester taking peds and advanced adult health. Next semester I have practicum.
That's awesome!! Which campus do you attend?
Orlando campus
Any advice to the potential newbie?
If you're already an LPN first semester is a breeze. So focus on what you don't know as well as the ATIs there are so many modules to do. Don't let what you practice as an LPN cloud how you answer the test as a future RN. That can throw you off
Thanks girl! Good luck, you're almost to the finish line!
You're welcome !!! Thank you so much. You're at the Lakeland campus right ?
You're welcome! And yes, I'm attending the Lakeland campus. Just started A&P1 yesterday and go for my interview after class today!! EEKKK
Officially accepted into the Nursing program, start core in May!!
