Kaplan's test results

Published

What do you guys think of my Kaplan test results from the review course?

Diagnostic Test: 68%

Readiness Test: 64%

Q Bank Cumulative Results: 52%

Question Trainer 1: 60%

Question Trainer 2: 63%

I thought I was doing really well until I looked at my Q bank cuulative results. Those seem kind of bad to me. Is that normal? Did anyone else have test results like this and passed or failed the NCLEX? I'm taking it in 16 days so I'm really nervous lol.

Hi

My Qbank was 61%, QT1-7 ranged from 62-65% and I took it yesterday and shut off at 75 questions. I'll let you know tomorrow whether or not I passed! The wait is killing me! I do have friends that passed with low 60's in all kaplan tests so you are probably doing okay.

The rest of my skills are decent but its the Qbank thats worrying me.

I just HOPE that if I am going to fail the NCLEX that it shuts off at 75. I dont want to have to be tortured and take 265 questions and then FAIL. But I'll gladly take up to 265 if I pass.. Id on't care lol

Remember to read all of the rationales....also do q trainers 5,6,7. Because these questions are ALL of higher difficulty level, I think that they really prepared me for nclex. One question on NCLEX was almost identical.

My qbank ave was 58% and I passed with 75.

You can do it. Good luck!

well I can officially say now that I passed (YAY!!!) and my Qbank was 61%. Definitely try to redo as many incorrect questions as you can and read the rationales. Study the diseases that pop up over and over on Kaplan and do the rest of the Question Trainers. I think as long as you remain in the 60's you'll be fine.

Good luck!

I just took Question Trainer # 3 and I got a 55% :o

Ugh... I just did 50 questions from the Qbank and i got a 42%!!!! Thats HORRIBLE....I've never gotten that low.

I finished my Kaplan review course last week thinking I was doing really well and really understood this stuff. Now I'm not soo sure. :crying2:

100 views in one day and not a single response? Pleeeeease someone respond who knows what they're talking about!!

I'll respond to your question. Receiving a 42% on one section of the Q-Bank, isn't great BUT, it isn't an indicator that you will fail the NCLEX either. Passing the NCLEX is about being able to demonstrate critical thinking via the questions you receive. Therefore don't stress out over any individual score but rather go back and review the rationales for all of the questions in that test. Identify the concept that was being tested, the knowledge you needed to respond to the question, and the test-taking strategies suggested to select the best answer. Remember NCLEX answers are "best answers" they are the best available answer. Apply the principles of safe and effective nursing care to the situation in the question, think nursing process, and ABC's and you'll improve your percent correct. Best wishes for NCLEX success.

I very much agree with Leda!

I have gotten lower than that! Go over the question and make sure you know the rationale. In my case, I rewrote the questions that I got it wrong in a not card, and put up on my bedroom wall. What is your technique just make sure you go over the questions you got wrong and don't forget them.
