KAPLAN or URC review center for NCLEX which is better?

HI

fellow philippine nursing graduates I need your help on this question that I have been battling for a couple months now. I'm planning to enroll in an nclex review center and was wondering which was better and worth the valuable money. I graduated in 2007 and have just started to self review with the saunders 4th edition book this month.

do u think KAPLAN REVIEW OR URC REVIEW IS MORE EFFECTIVE??? which has worked for you?

please offer your advice, insights and experiences.....thank you.

Nobody can answer this question for you. Only you can decide what is best. Most people are successful by studying on their own.

if you think you have a good foundation on content go for KAplan. :up:They really have nclex like queston . They'll bombard you with challenging questions in Qbank. They also have syllabus checklist and sample schedule/study plan. But they are more like do it yourself!

URC is fun and gives you a lot of positivity and confidence. they are great with nmemonics and makes you feel like you are part of the family (class). they'll spoon-feed you with contents. they are not as serious as Kaplan thou - in a way that makes learning fun for me. the lecturers always have funny thing to say about everything.:D

But if your busy and a serious person i suggest Kaplan. they are more compact and concise.

And true nobody can answer that for you but yourself. it really depends on you on what type of learner you. this is just based on my experience.

Good luck to us! All for the best! We'll gonna pass the NCLEX RN exam! :)

---thanks for your insight. it's been four years since I graduated so I LITERALLY NEED TO REFRESH my mind on all the content! can I ask what review center did you attend? and when is your exam?

Specializes in Paramedic 15 years, RN now.

kaplan is good for two students, foreign educated student and/or who have weak english comprehension or priority patients, as in who does nurse see first, otherwise, go saunders...much more thorough. friends, nclex is NOT a tricky test...but there are alot of sata....sorry to say.

have you looked at ncsbn? Kaplan is good for ESL nurses!!

I am currently enrolled at kaplan online class anywhere program and URC ( last year). i aslo use saunders very detailed so i mostly use it for content. Kaplan and URC for questionaires and when Im burnout i use La charity since it has 25-30 questions per chapter. you can check ncbsn extension learning they have 1 nclex style question per week as a widget.

im planning to take it this april but no specific date yet.

Goodluck to us! We will pass the NCLEX RN exam! Believe and you will achieve!:)

yes I looked at ncsbn but think that an in class review would suit me better. what does ESL stand for?
