Kaplan Readiness Results

Published

I just completed the Kaplan readiness test. It was 180 questions and I got a 61.1%. This does not sound good at all. Should I reschedule? I'm scheduled to take the NCLEX on 9/23 which is less than 2 weeks away!

I was told that anything 65% and above is good. You have two weeks and Kaplan is just a predictor. If you are not ready, then don't take it until you are. You can reschedule as long as you do it within the specified time given. (within 24hrs of the appointment) Just do what is best for you and trust your instincts. I know that you can do it.

How do YOU feel about it? I mean, if you feel that you are not ready then do not take it. I am using Kaplan as well and my tests range from 59-71% [on 50 questions]. Just focus on the rationales and don't focus on the number. I have heard 65% and above is good, but I go by what Marlene Hurst says...as long as you get more right than wrong [referring to higher level questions]

You can do more better if you review your content and practice in a study mode to keep track of your score. Relax and keep your anxiety under control. Your score is good, just keep practicing question. Wish you all the best!

I personally think you should test after 2 weeks. My readiness results was 67% and after that I didn't study content anymore and just did the qbank. 2 weeks later, I took the nclex and did the pearsonvue trick and got the infamous pop up. Your percentage is really good, according to observations, many students above 57% pass the board exam. Kaplan's standard is just really high to make sure that you get 95-100% probability of passing. Besides, it's not about the percentage or number of questions you get, it's about how consistent you are at making the right choice.

I failed the first time I took the NCLEX. After that it was reccomended that I should take the KAPLAN course. I got a 66% on my readiness results, averaged 57% on Q bank questions, and averaged from 55-67% on my trainer tests. I completed EVERY question before the NCLEX as well as reading the entire book. I took the NCLEX 2 weeks after my readiness test and got 75 questions and passed!! Really I feel that it takes away the anxiety and get you used to answering higher level questions than Saunders and other books I tried. For me at least, it was worth every penny and if you are studying and doing your questions as reccomended then you should be just fine.

Next time I took NCLEX I got 75 questions and passed :) sooo much easier too!
