Hi!
OK. I have strayed from my study programme this week. Well, still doing my Q's but, just out of curiosity I got the Kaplan Q bank - to compare with the Saunder's. I am not impressed.
Anybody doing Kaplan bank Q's? I would like to hear what you thought - especially if you have done the other as well...

anyway, I'm answering the Saunders questions one by one, and not using the grading.
a friend who came back home from NYC lent me the Kaplan Q Bank and told me to try it, to gauge my readiness. I got 65%, 69%, 65, & 67% in Tests 1 to 4.
the target is supposedly >75%. I guess I should in extreme anxiety now as my scores are too low.
anyway, I'm continuing with the Saunders Comprehensive CD and shelving the Kaplan Q Bank on advice of Suzanne. the 2 systems have different "feel" on how they rationalize the answers.
have you taken the NCLEX? what are your scores on the Kaplan Q Bank?
I have done a few of the 50Q tests and have found them completely different from Saunders - as well as with a lot of conflicting stories/ inconsistencies behind the rationales.
Did you get any of the priority questions that regardless of the situation presented? Your options are... (put in order) responds to own name, begins drooling, doll's eye reflex disappears in a crazy spout of blue and black, takes deliberate steps when standing and picks up bite-size pieces of cereal...
One of these scenarios was a nurse instructing a N/A about a drainage evacuator... the others varying, and different. I just had to laugh.
Like I said, I was just curious - but now convinced; not worth it!
yes, it has a different "feel" on how it rationalizes the answers.
btw, my friend who lent me the CD--he flunked, even after attending the Kaplan review in NYC.
I have recommended the Saunders Comprehensive book to him, hopefully he'll read it.
Yup,
Definitely disappointed in this product - like I said, I was just curious and now I have seen it and done with it!!!!
