My school arranged for my class to take the NCLEX Diagnostic Exam a few weeks before graduation and I scored a 56% with absolutely zero studying. In fact my brain was in Public Health mode when I took it. For the last few weeks I have been studying using the Saunder's Review, reading and crunching questions quite a bit.
So, today I started doing the Kaplan "Focused Review Tests", which has been available to us online through my school. There are 32 tests and I have completed 9 of them with an average of 70.5 -- with scores ranging 83% from the lowest grade a 60%.
I am just trying to figure out how I am doing. I have read in many posts that you should be scoring around a 65% for an exam called Kaplan"Trainer", which I am not familiar. I don't know if I am getting similar questions if the grading is different.
Geez, I can NOT gage how well prepared I am! My appointment is Feb 1st!

Those scores sound good to me. What does the orientation to the testing say? There has to be some kind of information made available to the person testing before they start. If you can't find anything, then look on the website and contact them for answers. Otherwise, do not be too influenced. If you feel prepared, then you are most likely ready. If you feel like you are in left field, then you need to rely on your own judgement on whether or not you should reschedule the test. Good luck.
Sometime I feel really confident. Other times I feel like I don't know anything. All I know is that I am having dreams about NCLEX questions which usually is a good sign in nursing school that I have studied well enough. I feel like I understand most of the Kaplan questions that are being asked, not a lot of guessing.
One thing I am SURE about is that I can't wait till it's over.
