Kaplan On Demand and content supplementation question

Published

Hi! I heard Kaplan is mostly questions but has some content. I just joined Kaplan On Demand and I want to know if some people would recommend something more content based like Herst as a supplement to Kaplan or just concentrate on Kaplan.

So, stick to just Kaplan On Demand or supplement it with something else? I just payed over $400 dollars for it and hoping it is good enough. Thanks!

I am also using Kaplan On Demand and I signed up yesterday. use all of the resources that Kaplan offers you and if you have time maybe you can take a look at Saunders or Lacharity but you will be okay with Kaplan. The On Demand offers 3,000 questions so that alone is a lot of work.

Good luck.

Doesn't the On Demand have access to all the videos? If so.....there's your content right there. Hours and hours of it!

Kaplan was the only thing that I used. Watch all of the lessons on demand under the tool box and read the course book. That should give you more than enough content review. The questions are great and will really prepare you for nclex. Just be sure to review allthe rationals not just the ones you missed. Try to do as many questions as possible. That means all the Q trainers and at least 75% of the Q bank. It even has an alt. question quiz that gets you comfortable with that style of question. Good Luck!

Awesome JBjints! I don't have enough posts to message anyone. Keep in touch and tell me how On Demand is going for you!!! When are you planning to take the NCLEX? I am not taking it until I feel I am truly ready.. maybe 3 months from now...

I am speaking from experience.... it seems to be working for me!!

I just purchased Kaplan On Demand as well.

From past experiences with my attempt @ the boards is why I say this...

Take everything, ALL books and put them away!!

Only keep Med Dictionary, Kaplan book, note book... if you need to go over a specific area, then and only then would I open any other books for content!!

I hope that helps?!?

Best of luck,

Jo Anne

Yeah it looks like I will just stick with Kaplan for content also! Yay! Thanks everyone for the feedback! I think it's better for me to concentrate on one reviewer or else I might get off track... I tend to get confused sometimes and try to do more things than necessary! Thanks!

I recommend both the Kaplan and the Lacharity book. Kaplan is great but lacks a lil in the priority/delegation/assignments area. Lacharity specifically focuses on those three things and the book is rather thin compared to others. Buy the lacharity and you will thank me later.

Since you paid for this, make the most of it so that you get your money's worth. Don't let it slide by the wayside. You can always add to it if you feel that is necessary. Good luck.
