Hi guys! I'm applying for NAU Yuma's nursing program and the Kaplan Nursing Entrance Exam is used for this school. I just took the Kaplan test yesterday and I did not do very well on the science and writing portions. Since I did not reach the minimum score for science (65%), I have to apply again for the next cycle.
Overall score: 79%
Reading: 91&
Math: 89%
Writing: 71%
Science: 60%
I want to list some topics that I remember from the test to help out future students, especially since there's not a lot of info out there. First of all, I thought only anatomy and physiology would be on the science portion, but it was not the only field of science.
Reading:
Math:
Writing:
Science:
I am very disappointed in the lack of clarity of what was going to be on this test, especially with the science portion. I think Kaplan needs to be more transparent about which fields of science will be on the test.
Resources:
If there are other topics that I haven't included, please let me know! Thanks guys and good luck!
Thank you all for the input. It is definitely tough to sift through all the material. I guess my approach will be to skim over the general science questions and since I just finished both AP classes, I feel pretty confident about that section. Thank you for the writing resources nursegirl105.

- Aging (super broad like is the taste sense the first sense to go?)
Hey I've looked on multiple website about this question and every website says something different. Do you remember what the other options were? I know it was a long time ago, but anything helps!

I did some research about this questions and I found that mast cells are found in mucous membranes and connective tissues, and are important for wound healing and defense against pathogens via the inflammatory response. So, if the question wants a very broad term it would be phagocyte, but if it is specific it would be mast cell.

All of these quizlets was very similar to the test I took two weeks ago. If you study them I promise you’ll be fine. I applied to a nursing school last minute and I only had 3 weeks to study, so it’s not like I studied for a while.
Thank you so much for sharing this.... I take mines tomorrow morning and I believe this will be very helpful. I didn't do so well on my TEAS in December but I'm praying for an 80 or better on this Kaplan test tomorrow.

Hey, I didn't do so good on my TEAS either, but I scored higher on my Kaplan. In my opinion, Kaplan is easier than the TEAS exam.

I passed! Not with the score I wanted but not bad for studying just a few days prior. LOL The info given truly helped me... Scored a 79%....90% in Science...95% in Reading...68% in Math and 67% in writing. I thought writing was my strongest area and its actually the weakest..

For the writing section I used this: (skip to the writing section)http://www.act.org/content/dam/act/unsecured/documents/Preparing-for-the-ACT.pdf
This really helps because it is exactly like the writing portion. For the reading section there's not much you can do to study for it, but the quizlet I listed were the exact same questions and answers asked on the Kaplan.
