Kaplan Nursing Entrance Exam

Has anyone taken the Kaplan nursing entrance exam? I previously took the net, and applied to the nursing program at Baker for entrance into the program for the fall. Unfortunately, I did not make the cut. I now have to take the Kaplan nursing entrance exam. I bought the Kaplan study guide; I have the barons, as well as the evolve, (for the HESI). With the net the composite score was based on math and reading comp only, a few science and no chemistry. This new Kaplan makes the net seem like a kindergarten entrance test. I can't seem to find any websites or threads specifically on what the Kaplan test actually is about, how it is scored, or any information pertaining to just the Kaplan test. Can anyone help? I will be taking this test in early October. Any information will be appreciated. :yeah:

Hi everyone, just wanted to let you know some information I found out from calling the dean. The letters will be sent out the first week of August. She wouldn't tell me the cut off, but she did say I was in good shape with my points (26.1). I asked her how good of a chance I had (because I have to give notice to my job) and she told me to give notice. So if any of you have points higher than a 26.1 you are probably in :) Good luck everyone! :D

I was at 25.89 and I was told the same about the letters from the secretary so August 1 or 2nd.

We were told we would begin receiving notification for fall 2010 entry sometime in August, but many began receiving their notifications as early as July 21st. I was pleasantly surprised when I received mine on July 21st--actually, I pushed it out of my mind thinking I wouldn't be hearing anything until August.

what were your overall points? I have people with more faith in me than myself I have 25.89 3.97 GPA 80 Kaplan and people keep saying you will get in. BUT I have no idea what the cut off will be this time, last round it was 25.4 Phyllis said I had a good shot after the Kaplan she also said she believes the cutoff will be higher this time she does not know how high, or not at the time she should now.

I had 26.2 entrance points. I don't recall what the cut-off was when I took my entrance exam.

I got an 80! overall points 25.89

What campus are you applying to? At Clinton Twp the last Kaplan Test Date was May 21 and apps had to be in by the June 31st?

Flint last date I know of for Kaplan was June 20th

I got my letter today! I got in!!! What a relief! :) Anyone else receive their letter today?

Question regarding the english portion of the exam. I am curious as to the question -answer format, is it like this:

Illiteracy is an enormous problem,A it affectsB millions of people worldwide,C and is an impediment toD social progress. No errorE.

A.

B.

C.

D.

E.

OR

The digestive system breaks down food down so that our bodies can absorb the nutrients that it needs.

(1) replace it needs with they need

(2) change breaks with broke

(3) change digestive system to Digestive System

(4) replace nutrients with nutrients'

(5) no correction necessary.

Obviously, the later would be my preference.

In our acceptance letters, it says something about needing a student nurse contact information sheet, but it is not included in my packet. Are we supposed to pick that up at the health science department?

In my acceptance letter it doesnt mention anything regarding that form. Did you get in at Clinton Twp or a different campus?

I finally got my letter!!! I am in too. What a relief. I was also wondering about the contact information sheet. I called and left a message but have not heard a response yet. Let me know if you find out anything. Look forward to meeting all of you who got in!!!
