Jen- Oh yeah! That would be me.

Ashlie- I'm going to see financial aid on Monday at 9. As we found out, it was just an aid overview today, and then we set up the real appointments.

Ack my other post went twice. Ppd's can be read 48 to 72 hours later. I had a test a year ago read at 72 hours, and my son had his read at 72. He tested on a Friday. I think I will do my hep b somewhere else, I found a place with Saturday hours so I don't have to worry about missing class for another shot.

Oh ok good!! Lol. I knew they were only done on certain days because of the reading. My job is having our benefits fair on weds so I'm just gonna wait till then to get my free one! Lol. All I have to do is do my drug test I'll get the doc I work for to do my physical tomorrow and be all set. Now I just gotta figure out how to get the 2k for school. Hmmmm lol.

So today I did my physical, drug test, tetanus booster (last IZ for it is over 10 years old), 1st Hep B (I am going to a different clinic for the next two shots that has Saturday/Sunday hours), had titer drawn for MMR and Varicella (results should be known by Wednesday hope they are positive titers!!), PHEW! It was a lot. I'm doing my PPD another day because I wouldn't have been able to come back Monday morning to have it read due to my financial aid appointment.

By the way, do any of you ladies know for sure if the hematocrit/hemoglobin and regular UA is really required? I opted not to do those today because at the clinic they told me other students were not doing those tests because Kaplan only wanted the physical....hmm...they said it's no big deal to walk in and do those if I find I do have to, but they suggested I put it off until I find out for sure, since they claim other students didn't need them. Why spend more money if I don't have to right?

Does anyone know if there is a discount on tuition if you have already taken the prerequisites?

yes there is a discount, but you have to submit documentation/class sylabus to the powers that be at kaplan so they can review and check to make sure the classes you took satisfy the kaplan requirement.

BTW, I got a call from kaplan stockton just today and got it when I returned home at 3:00 pm. they want me to interview with the DON this monday. they did not give me a time. what is up with them?

YES!! My MMR and Varicella titers were positive!!! I didn't expect the results to be ready so fast since I just had the blood drawn Friday, but HOORAY. Done! All I need now is to get my PPD read Wednesday or Thursday (just did it today), and go to my CPR class on Wednesday! Financial aid went well. Excited!!! Can't wait to start! I was told there will be an orientation probably on the 4th, but we will get a notice in the mail about that:)

I had my interview today with the 2 LVN instructors. That went well.

I asked when the class was supposed to start and was told that the start date has been pushed back to the first monday in december. the current class finishes this week and both instructors said they needed a break so are taking the month of november off.

I should know more in the coming weeks.

for those of you who will be receiving financial aid from kaplan - could you keep us up-to-date on how that process is going? I am seriously going to need it and want to know what is/isn't available.

if I can't get at least 35-40% of the tuition covered, my ability to attend nursing school will be in serious question.
