Hi everyone. Iam looking into the kaplan college in sacramento lvn program that starts in october. I went for the tour already and passed the first test. oh. Im getting my stuff ready. i have to get my shot records,a copy of my m.a. certificate & cpr card and send them my letters of recommendations. I heard the board of nurses are checking the place out around the second week of sept, so they are trying to slow down the process. but im so anxious!!! they said that they extended the hesi testing cause not that many people are passing. and that people who scored in the 80-90% will be the ones who get interviewd. Do you have college credits?

well im kinda glade alot of ppl aren't passing bcuz i need to get into that school!! my advisor didn't tell me anything about a letter of recommendation! but i they need to hurry up and say who's gettin accepted!! and no i dont have any college credits..

Hello Everyone :)

I'm also looking into applying to Kaplan in Sacramento. I was wondering if guys know that if I wanted to transfer the credits from their (Kaplan's) LVN program to get into an RN program, will those be accepted? My main goal is to become a Nurse Practiotioner eventually but since I don't have many options, I gotta start somewhere and right now starting with an LVN program is looking good to me as I don't want waiting lists and such in other programs.

Also, about the HESI, was it really hard in the science part? Did you guys get the study guides from Kaplan College itself? I'll really appreciate your response, thanks a lot! :)

im not sure about transfering them to like a com. college or university you would have to call and ask.. but i was planning on goin to another school like western career college or unitek after Kaplan and do their lvn-rn bridge program.. as for the HESI we did not have to do science... just math reading and vocab.. and yes kaplan gave us study packets.

The only school you can transfer Kaplans' credits to is Univ. of Pheonix. Other schools can give you credit in they way of not having to do a certain subject. That is what the people at Napa college told me. But somewere on this site it said kaplan was getting WASC (I think that is what it is) certified and if they do then you can transfer the credits. But its at the schools discretion.

Amerie- yeah i know!!! They didn't say you needed letters of reccommendation? Maybe you should verify so its not at the last minutethat you'd need to get someone to write it for you. But maybe since you don't have past medical experience you don't need it. All the other schools ask for it. You should look into getting your immuniziations now too, they said that the less stuff we have to do when we get accepted the better. They are going to be going by points, so the more points you have the better. I started an A&P class in June since I knew none of the trade schools classes would amount to anything when i go back to school for my bsn. But I still have alot to do in that class. Atleast I'll have a heads up on a&p if i do get in. Have they updated your scores yet on the website?
