Kaplan Book vs Saunders

Published

Hey everyone! I know this might have been discussed in here before but I just want to know those who took the kaplan course... how did you find the kaplan course book ?(The RN course book..not the strategy guide) Do you think that's enough for a content compared to saunders? I did saunders before and honestly, as much as I love the comprehensive information, its hard to read through it because it has too much information. I find the kaplan book easier to understand and seems to be straight forward... tho i still use saunders to get extra information that kaplan has not talked about. Can anybody give me a feedback about the book? Thanks!

hi,

I have both books--the Saunders & Kaplan Course book (that you can only receive through mail if you purchased the complete online course).

I agree with the previous posts that Kaplan gives you important points/straight to the point but there are some things/additional information that could be missing. So, I use the Saunders as another source for content. Saunders is great in content especially if you think you are weak in certain areas. I would suggest looking over the section in Saunders.

As for questions, Kaplan is really good. It helps you think critically on the higher level questions...it will help prepare you for the NCLEX. If you are unable to do the complete online course. I definitely recommend purchasing the QBANK.

Before your exam, practice practice practice questions! I believe it will help you in getting the feel of taking exams..and also endurance of taking certain number of questions on NCLEX. We never know how many questions we get! I'm planning on do this before my exam which is in a few weeks...

Good luck!
