Hello, The previous thread regarding Kaplan College 2012 was closed, so I thought I would check in with everyone that has or is applying for the January cohort. Anyone get confirmation for January acceptance yet? Sent from my iPhone.

January cohort unite! Looks like we'll have a good group of people who will know each other. I got a call from the FA office but I haven't been able to return any calls because I was traveling but ill get on it today.
I've been looking for places in SD too. However I want to speak to my rep about where most clinical sites are going to be, that way I can select a place accordingly.
Be safe on Black Friday my fellow future nursing mates.

First of all, welcome back from your travels!
Second, glad you found us on the new forum:-)
Great! You got your call from FA:-)
I know from the VN program that I took at Kaplan that the clinical sites can be spread out and they can change. You might want to wait until your meeting with the DON regarding questions on clinical sites since the reps don't know this information....at least not typically.

Status update: fa was quick and painless so now getting close to start date, as for living arrangements Thas still up in the air, found alternative where living in tijuana is almost 300$ per month for one bedroom apartment, which is 4x cheaper then sd and commute is 30 min so anyone have any suggestions bout if that might be right way to go

I wouldn't plan on a 30 minute commute! The border gets PACKED and if you don't get lucky and cross early, you could be waiting upwards of an hour or more. Plus whatever traffic you hit stateside. I don't know if it would be worth the risk.
I did hear that we should have schedules by the 21st of December. The DON is supposedly going to have them done and sent out (via email) before the school goes on holiday break (which is the 21st). So we'll see what happens! I'm still waiting for FA to call! Maybe because I'm using my GI Bill?? They already have all my info and everything so I guess mine will be easy so they aren't pressing it? Haha. Who knows!
I had couple of months left on my GI bill so Im going to use some of that, its great that we get 38% discount cuz it makes a whole lot of difference
I totally agree with Jezz092195 not living in TJ. I have heard of people sitting at the boarder 2-3 hours. In addition, it is incredibly dangerous down there these days and sounds pretty risky all the way around:-(
Really? Schedules before the holidays would be great!
As far as FA- I received an email with FA paper work, but no call here either and I'm not using a GI Bill, so perhaps we'll hear something next week?
Yeah there's no way I would go to Kaplan if it wasn't for the GI Bill and discounts. With a husband, 2 year old, and baby on the way, $56,000 (or whatever it costs) isnt a debt I'd be willing to take on! Hahaha.

Ok good. I feel better im not the only one waiting still!
I have a meeting with my FA officer this Saturday. I was mailed a physical copy of my FA papers on dec 1st. Hopefully everything can get cleared up. Did everyone else complete their background/ drug tests yet?
