Kapiolani Community College (KCC) - ADN Spring 2024

Published

Hi! Is anyone applying in Kapiolani's nursing program next year 2024?

I am feeling anxious day by day since the program is very competitive and I am feeling discouraged about some of my grades in the prerequisites subject. My stats are as follows:

+Prereqs: 6 A's, 2 B's, 2 C's (Micr and Bioc)

+Co-Req: 2 B's

+ATI-TEAS: 90.7 %

+Work Experience: CNA for 3 years

Overall, I am just worried about my grades bringing me down in the application. For both Microbiology and BioChem I got D on the first time and retook, and it just devastated me knowing that I almost got a B in those subjects, but my best wasn't enough and still got a C. Do you guys think I have a chance? What are your thoughts?

Oh thank God hahaha. So it's on a regular grading scale then? Like 90%+ is an A and so on?

Yup, they do not round up or down

how did u study for your TEAS exam btw

Nursehub subscription. It's 30 a month. I spent about a week on science and another on math. Brushed up very lightly on english to refresh my brain about punctuation and other technical stuff that I don't care for. Took like 2 practice questions on the reading section through them (they have practice exams on there - they are very similar to the TEAS but their science section is not as hard as the TEAS so I would probably look elsewhere for practice questions). I studied for 3 weeks, but I really locked in for the last week and a half. So I basically just spammed tf out of practice questions. I honestly don't think its worth it to study for the english section. It's basically common sense + test taking strategy - so just do practice questions for that section.

Okay, it sounds reasonable then. I have one last question haha. How many tries do you get on the med math exams? I am so terrified that I'll fail out because of those

3 tries and you have to score a 90% to pass. 2 exams each semester

It's so tense waiting for the letters LOL. I did apply for both LPN and ADN. I applied for LPN program as my plan B just in case. I hope you will get in either of the program! You got this! Get that high TEAS score!

Hi did you get in the LPN program for KCC or the ADN program?

Has anyone gotten their letters yet? 🥵

Heard in another thread the letters got mailed out today! Good luck everyone!

OMG! That means we'll get the letters by tomorrow or Friday?! 😱 good luck everyone!

Nothing today, I'm assuming it's because I live on the west side. The suspense is killing me! Any one got their letters?

Nothing yet for me according to usps informed delivery! But mail didn't get delivered yet today... I'll update if I get it! I think letter mail doesn't take too long on the island so it should be delivered by tomorrow... Monday absolutely latest?!

Just got my acceptance letter today. I'm in Wahiawa btw. Did anyone else get theirs?
