I've heard Kaiser "pays more" than its neighboring hospitals in SoCal.. Is this true? What is the going rate for new grads or 1-2 year experienced nurses at Kaiser in Portland or Southern California? Thanks.

IKaiser California has a very aggressive union that had negotiated for very good salaries when I worked in Cali. In Oregon unions are pretty weak, and I don't think that the pay is substantially better than any of the surrounding hospitals

Whats the deal with Kaiser hospitals??? I mean I read a lot of posts here and there where members say Kaiser is not good to work for. I'm planning on enrolling in the kaiser loan forgiveness program which means I will have to work for them for at least 2 yrs. What are the bad things for Kaiser that I should be aware of???
I hear a loof bad press about Kaiser but I have never had a problem with them. However, I am a healthy person and never had to be admitted as a patient there. I have also worked with a nurse that worked for Kaiser full-time and said she loves it there. Everyone has their own opinions and although I have heard more bad than good.. I perfer to make my own decisions rather than just accept someone's view on on a hospital as being all good or all bad.
Yeah, true. I guess it depends on that specific hospital and the boss. Just have to cross your fingers.
