I have found that the inpatient care is good, but because it's an HMO it's hard to get past the clinics even if you have a real problem. That's the biggest beef I have with Kaiser. My older kids had Kaiser through their mother, and I got so tired of intervening each time they were misdiagnosed with something. My daughter (17) still lives with her mother while she's in school but is so fed up with Kaiser care that if it's anything that can be scheduled, she waits until she's with her dad and me and she sees a non-Kaiser doc in our area.
I'm sure that could be right in the hopsitals, but what about in the clinics? They are still hiring LVNs there to my knowledge. Thanks!

That may be true (for now), but once the practice becomes a standard in the Kaiser Hospitals, system-wide won't be far behind. At the rate the pendulum is swinging, LTC will be the last bastion of the LPN.
Hi
I know for a fact that Kaiser in northern california is NOT hiring any LVN's. They don't even allow current kaiser employee's who have become LVNs to transfer into an LVN position. Kaiser is attempting to place them in various "other" positions. They have done this with CNAs and are now doing it with LVN's. Since CA has adopted the 4-1 patient ratio, Kaiser will only hire RN's.
I'm really not trying to argue with anyone or debate the issue. I live in the desert in Cali, and they "are" presently hiring LVNs......since this is a union position, how can they somehow "get rid of" or "move into another position" an LVN....that doesn't make sense to me.
Darn....I wish there was a Kaiser LVN reading this board to set us straight!

Hello,
I'm searching to find out if any of you work for Kaiser as an LVN? I'm wondering what your experience has been, if you get to practice as an LVN or mostly in MA capacity, and most of all, if Kaiser has been a good company to work for.
Help anyone?
Thanks!
