Just took NCLEX and feeling terrible about it?!?!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hi I just got home from taking my NCLEX and it was absolutely terrible. I had at least 30 SATA questions...sometimes they were every other question with multiple choice in between and some were back to back to back. It shut off at 75 questions. I had absolutely no math questions, no hot spot or audio questions, but 3 drag and drop. There was only 1 delegation question. The SATA were absolutely killing me though. A lot of them were very similar to each other as far as the topics.

I feel so nervous and not positive about this. I am too scared to do the PVT but I feel like my heart is still pounding out of my chest.

That's how I felt about mine. It was the worst test I've ever taken and I thought I had failed for sure. Mine cut off at about 98. Sounds like you passed! EVERY single one if my friends whose test shut off at 75 passed! You'll feel better once you do the PVT!

Oh PS I passed!! That test was awful but it's suppose to be! Good luck

Thanks for the response. I really hope I did ok. I am still really debating on doing the PVT. I feel like if I do it and it doesn't give me the "good pop-up" I may go check in to the local psych hospital.

I know the feeling! I really just wanted to know! Did you do an NCLEX review? I did Hurst so that helped me feel better. I also remember that there are lots is dumb-asses that pass ???

I didn't do the Kaplan class but I used the Kaplan strategies book to study and I got 81% on the practice test in the book and 77% on the online practice test. I also used 2 NCLEX review books with just questions.

I reviewed any material that was not fresh in my mind, and I must say that I am pretty dismayed with the style of my test. It seemed like there was nothing on things a nurse should definitely know regarding life-threatening complications of illnesses and actual patient care; but just a lot of nonsense about in-services and quality control.

I can't believe there were no questions pertaining to shock and PAWP/CVP, nothing about autonomic dysreflexia, thyrotoxicosis, severe side effects of certain meds, nothing on burns, tracheoesoph fistulas, nothing like that.

I still haven't checked the PVT and I don't think I will..I feel too scared to do it. But as the day goes on and I realize I won't hear anything all weekend, I feel worse and worse about the outcome. As of right now I feel convinced that I failed.

I will definitely come back on once I find out and disclose if my feelings are right.

Omg. I'm so terrified now.

Sorry I don't mean to terrify you. A lot of people say that this is not a test that you walk out of feeling good and I can definitely agree with that. And the more I think about it the worse it is. I wish they would just give me the damn results at the end of the test!!! I swear they want people to freak about it :arghh:

I agree. I'm taking my test on Tuesday. I'm super nervous for all of these SATA that everyone keeps talking about. I REALLY hope I don't get 30 of them or I think that could make me fail. I feel completely ready for the test, but posts like these make me question myself. Maybe I should stop reading all nurses until after my test.

To the original poster, I hope you passed, I think the test shutting off at 75 pretty much means you passed. I haven't heard anyone say they failed at 75.

Specializes in CMSRN.

So did you do the PVT or get your results??

So I found out yesterday that I did pass!!!!

I never did the PVT because I was scared. haha

But I did end up paying the $8 on pearson vue to get my results.

So I guess a lot of SATA is really a good sign. Another person I know took the test a week before me and also had a ton of them. She passed as well.
