Just took the nclex, damn was it hard?

Published

hey allnurses, i just took the nclex. It shut me off at 75 question! Damn was it confusing, so it was vague, questions were definitly really short not like uworld. Seemed like it went straight to the point. I did the "PVT" and used my real cc information. Got the good pop up, and still in disbelief. Now, i don't wanna go too much in detail but man, i felt like it was hard and easy at the same time.

Here are my scores, during nursing school, we did hesi, got 80% conversion score

During uworld, got 61.6% overall

1 assessment got 73% at 94th percentile

2nd assessment got 70% and 91st percentile overall.

I also used lacharity, did up to 19 chapters with and overall of 60 percent (im guessing)

guys the nclex was alot different from these resources. It was hard to me because it was vague. I hope i had passed because all of my classmates who had passed, did the pvt and it was accurate for them. Stay strong ya'll it was a hard test but easy at the same time. in the end, i came out feeling defeated like most nclex takers. I still feel like i failed so i am assuming that i failed until i see my results. Should i celebrate now? Or wait till i know i passed?

Congrats! Taking mine next week

hey good luck, i wish you the best, sending good vibes.

Sending good vibes your way! I take mine on wed and I'm starting get a little wigged out LOL. I've heard it was vague and everyone walks out of there like WTF just happened. Praying I pass!! Let us know how you did!!

hey blinkie2003, i know its easier said than done but be confident with your answers, i felt like i answered at least 2/3 of the exam blind. Select the best answer, eliminate the ones that has absolute and you know is wrong and you will be fine. As for the SATA, i will not sugar coat it, if you dont know the subject it will be a guessing game. Good luck to you my fellow future nurse!

Thank you!! They always say "you'll never really feel ready" to take it, so I'm doing my best to remember that! I've never had test anxiety either so I hope it doesn't start now. However, I have a feeling I'll be mumbling wtf under my breath through the whole thing, haha. I literally have plans to head straight to a bar after. Send all the good juju my way!!

hey shoot im drinking right now to calm my nerves. Listen, i did all the questions on uworld and i felt like it prepared me. Some of my classmates who did not completed the question bank took it and passed. They even had a lower score than i did on the self assessment. Just believe in yourself, take as soon as you complete your studying program before you forget the material. That was the reason why i moved my testing date up, because of that reason. Good luck!

My friend gave me her login info for Uworld so I could atleast use it for the questions/rationales, but I don't have access to any of the self assessments and I can't track my "overall" status. I've def done hundreds of questions though, and I also used Kaplan (not completely, but a good chunk) and my diagnostic and readiness scores on there was pretty good, so I think (hope!) I'll be OK! I'll def be using meditation imagery of dancing wine bottles to relax me during the exam HAHA.

Took the NCLEX earlier today, stopped at 80s. I had about 20 SATAs 1 drag and drop 2 med calcs an exhibit question and the rest are multiple choice questions. So afraid to do the PVT so I'm ginna wait for 2 days for the unofficial results. Anyway I thank God for the opportunity given me, that is to take the NCLEX:)

How did you prepared? I'm taking mine next Monday.

Congrats on making it this far. As far as the PVT trick I don't know cause i read earlier for someone that it didnt work but she passed. i just did the PVT trick for myself changed the security code it will not go through i tried another card that is closed when i click submit it tells me card is not valid. I have this knot in my stomach i dont know what to feel.

Congratulations and Good Luck. Hope you made it through. I had 114?? 23 SATA, food with calcium other than dairy products. Conference questions, 3 meds that I've never heard of and the ending said nothing to me. I know that God can work in supernatural way, but I don't know why I have this knot in my stomach. I did the trick it wouldn't go through when I change the security code. I tried a closed acct, after I hit submit, it asked me to enter a new card.
