Just having a sentimental moment...

Published

I am having a totally sentimental moment right now concerning my journey through pre-nursing.

I have 4 classes left to take (A&P 2, Micro, Wellness, and US History). I'll be applying to my BSN program of choice in January.

I'm taking A&P 1 right now and my average in that class is an 87.

My GPA is a 3.62 and I've worked my butt off!

I've never worked this hard for anything in my entire life. Now, I'm just hoping it will pay off.

I talked to an adviser today and she told me that I shouldn't have to worry about getting in. I figured out that if I get a B in A&P 2 and Micro, my GPA will still be above a 3.6, which should be more than enough to get me in combined with a good TEAS score.

The average GPA for my program is a 3.4. I'm just overwhelmingly proud of myself, because this is the hardest thing I've ever done and it has been a roller coaster!

 awesome job!!!! I completely understand what you mean as I'm also nearing the end of this chapter of my story! After this quarter I'll have A&P II, Sociology, and Microbiology left! It seems so strange, because when I started I felt like it was going to take forever to even get through the pre-req's. At this point though I'm planning out my TEAS test studying and will be applying to my first programs in March!

Hope these last few months go smooth for you :) good luck in nursing school!

Good Job!!! I think it is very important to stop and take a deep breath once in a while.... reflect on what you've accomplished toward your goal. This will help prevent burnout and help keep you motivated when you hit the 'hard slog' of clinical education.

I know what you mean! I had a lab exam over the muscles earlier this week and I wasn't feeling confident about it at all. I got an 87 on it! I'm ecstatic. Haha!

I haven't started studying for the TEAS yet. I'll probably end up doing a bunch of practice problems. I'll take my TEAS in either January or February. I bought the study booklet off of the website and I'm going to do the problems in it and probably get an additional practice test.
