well to make a long story short i married me sweetie on June 5TH

She is a nurse in the philippines & after she gets her CR-1 visa will be moving to New Hampshire which is where I live.

I am 39 & she is 27. we met online about a year & a half ago.

She has been working as what we would call an LPN for the last 5 years.

she did attend a 4 year nursing school there but didn't have the money( like many ladies over there) to take the test so that she could be an RN. I am sending her to a review class that will last 2.5 months & then after about a 30 day wait she will be able to take the nursing boards.

I am not a nurse & know little of nothing about what it will take for her to be able to work as an RN here in New Hampshire.

i did check out the new hampshire nursing license site but i didn't really understand all of the terms that they were using so at this point i am not so sure where to turn.

General Information About Licensing - New Hampshire Board of Nursing

if anyone here has some insite as to what it's going to take please let me know

thanks

I wouldn'tsay they are just "jerking people around". Rules have to followed and things have to be processed. You seem to assume that rules don't apply to you.
No not at all, I have had my share of dealing with government bureaucrats. Many act like they are in slooooooow motion & i just have to stop & wonder to my self, if this person had to go out onto the private sector like most of us are & they had to actually get a set amount of work done per shift could they do it ? probably not  my guess is that "most" would be fired within a week. i along with many people i know have had jobs where i had to do a good job & actually work quickly too. if you want to see what i am talking about just head to the nearest post office & observe the 1/2 asleep people that they have working there.

ok time for me to get off my soap box now :D:lol2:

What's the rush to get her working?
she said she doesn't want to sit around the house, she thought it would be very boring( these are her words)

She'll need to learn her away around town, banking, your credit cards, driver's permit.

i hate debt & don't have/ will not have a credit card in my house. been there done that..... As far as the drivers permit goes, she has never driven. i will find a country road once she gets her permit & i will give her some lessons. it will take time but she is a smart lady so in the end she will do fine.

Give the woman a chance to acclimatize.

she is mostly a home body. her idea of fun is texting/chatting with her friends

she doesn't like to go places just to go there.

she grew up poor & feels it's a waist of money.

however if i say " i need to go to walmart because i need this, this, & this would you like to go with me ?

she will respond "sure"

she was raised on the other side of the planet so she has a different outlook on life.

"pinay" nurses are know throughout the world for being as a group a very loving caring bunch.' ? and.......so are all other nurses in the world.......ALL and I mean ALL have 'bad' apples but on the whole......

ALL nurses are thought of highly as a caring group of people in Australia anyway, there is never referral as the Filipino nurses are better caring than any other nurse by the public, a nurse that a patient found to impress them will be identified as Filipino or Indian or English or Canadian or Aftrician or Kiwi or the local or the red head or blonde head or the nurse with the big nose or the yankee nurse or the nurse blah blah blah, but never this generalisation that nurses from the Phillipines are generally identified more caring than any other nurse from any other country or from an Australian nurse.

I have never heard this generalisation till a joined allnurses and I have been nursing a lonnnng time.

sorry hijacked this thread...but you did mention 'THROUGHOUT the world' which are strong words, I always wonder why this generalisation is constantly repeated as it is a 'crack' at all other nurses that are not from the Phillipines, all working under their own countries banner as nurses, who are doing a great job.

I think this type of comment has caused some resentment throughout the nursing world, and I have often seen these type of comments of the same genre made by some nurses from the (Phillipines) country as well.

I have had the privilege of working with many nurses from overseas, and respect many, many of them including some from the Phillipines. I have developed my 'trade' and they have challenged my way of thinking at times and have taught me many, many things, but no country supplies 'more caring nurses or more knowledgable more than any other.

YAY!!!! to ALL Nurses, especially those working in Japan and New Zealand and in Queensland and those involved in floods and highly regarded those in wars, that have been and done their job, beyond the call of duty with very much care that has not waivered.

hey i wasn't trying to offend or step on any toes.

I have however had others that are in the health care field tell me that they are very impressed with pinay nurses. also a friend of mine fell off of a 2 story house roof & damaged his back in 14 places for 3 nights he screamed until he couldn't scream any more & the only thing that seemed to help any was the 2 pinay nurses holding his legs up in the air all night long. he said he was very impresses with their performance. after 3 days they decided to operate & install two 8 inch long titanium rods in his back which did a lot to help but he will never be 100% again. however he can walk short distances & work a little. so due to the information i received i thought they were highly regarded through out the world. but maybe only a few select areas are lucky enough to be blesses with these super nurses :D:yeah::nurse:

And so the 'other nurses' did nothing for him? So how were these nurses backs after all of this? How were all their other patients going, were the 'other' type of nurses busy looking after these nurses' patients, while these , named -super nurses held your friends legs up all night? Fair dinkum!!!!! Yeah okay....you win blah

i see that you are very hostile towards foreign nurses

what exactly is it about them that you don't like???

maybe you are worried that they are

1. younger than you?

2. prettier than you?

3. smarter than you?

4. better overall than you?

i just hope your prejudges don't contribute to a negative working environment for your foreign coworkers

have a fine day
