Is Tagging along, I am in the process of enrolling for the RN to BSN program. Any further updates would be great from those who have been through this.

The first class you have to take is the only one with mandatory live sessions. Mine is five days, 2 hours each. They give you A LOT of schedules to choose from, so hopefully it will be easy to find one that you can manage to be there for.

Let me know any specific questions you have. I'm not very far along in the process ~ but I'll try to help if I can. ?

43 credits in one semester?!?!? What is that like 2 years at in a typical university. These programs are a joke. They should simply ask us to write them a check in return for the piece of paper. I'm not taking anything away from you. Good job with doing what you had to do and moving on with your career! Nursing education needs a careful audit and some standardization

Needing RN to BSN in the first place is the real joke. Seeing people paying 25k per semester at private schools for a BSN and then coming out less-prepared to be nurses than RNs who went to technical schools for $1500 per semester is the real tragedy.

Absolutely. What makes it worse is that healthcare managers KNOW that having a BSN doesn't make you a better nurse than someone with an ADN, but they still require it so the hospital can achieve magnet status. Sadly, a lot of people cannot afford to earn a BSN prior to working as a nurse, so this requirement disproportionately affects people of lower socioeconomic status and people of color by barring them from the most coveted positions for new grads.
