Just applied for LPN program

Published

Took the TEAS, Compass, and put in my request for prior learning for the STNA class. Went to advising and was told I could apply for the LPN program! Literally JUST applied, all of this within 4 hours. I am very overwhelmed but very happy for myself at the same time. Applied for summer '16 start. Time to play the waiting game! [emoji5]️

Couldn't agree w/ you more! I would love to take two years or more off to pursue an adn or bsn program but, unfortunately.. I don't have the luxury to do so.. I'm a mother of three, pay tuition, car note, rent, all my own bills.. Etc. Doing the LPN program is feasible for me at this time. Once I graduate & obtain expierience, I can find that wonderful job that will aid in financing the continuance of my educationI do intend to further my education & becoming an LPN is no time wasted in my eyes. I'm getting educated in the interim, becoming an LPN & working, making $$ & ultimately paving the way & opening the doors into all my future nursing endeavors..nothing comes easy but if you want it enough & it's in the Good Lord's will.. Ha..! Sky's the limit!

How was the TEAS test? I was going to apply this fall but my school decided to add that test to the requirements and I had four days to take it because I waited til I got all my grades back before applying. I didn't take it because I wanted to study first.

It really depends on the person. I've always been advanced in reading/writing and felt comfortable with math and science. I got a 93% on the reading, 67% on math, 56% on science and 70% on writing. My math and science were on the low side for what my school accepted but I still passed. I didn't study. I'd recommend taking practice tests if anything. It'd suck to waste $70!
