I'm not sure what is involved on this unit. Just wondering if anyone can enlighten me. Thanks.

I started in a Medical/Tele unit...even though I had sworn I would never deal w/tele! LOL!
It was the best thing that ever happened to me. Feeling comfortable/competent w/telemetry is a great advantage.
Gotta go for now, but will write more later.
Congratulations!

Telemetry means different things from hospital to hospital. In some hospitals it's a complex cardiac unit. I work medical-telemetry. It's a wide variety of medical diagnosis such as GI bleeds, COPD, CHF, chest pain (usually their enzymes are negative, if positive, they would go to the cardiac unit), and all the many reasons a person would need to be on a monitor.
Good luck. Study those rhythms and practice. Ask the monitor techs to save any interesting strips for you to study and evaluate.
Never ending fun! Good luck!
Thanks for the input. I hope it's not Hell just waiting for me. :chair:
