Who took the exam? I graduated last april 2006 and a candidate to take the exam but I decided to take the december 2006 examination instead hoping for a better score.
I heard a rumor that a review center in baguio had a leakage of the whole NP V and NP III exam, its quite a news in our university as well as in other local forum and other schools.
some of my friends who review on that particular review center confirmed to me that , YES, they had a leakage of around 50 items, most of which are asked in the NP V exam.
My friends attended the same review center but , it in its MANILA branch.
The leakage given to them was in a QUESTION AND ANSWER FORMAT. there are no choices, just the question and the right answer. It was given to them the evening before the exam.
In any case that it will be proven by the board that there was a leakage, the exam results will be forfeited and there will be a retake.
the professional regulatory commission (prc) has called on the public, especially examinees who recently took the 2006 nursing board examinations, not to believe text messages allegedly made by the prc and the board of nursing (bon).
in a statement, prc chair leonor tripon-rosero said the results of the 2006 exams have been cancelled and that a re-examination has been scheduled in july. the same text message says that examinees will have to shell out p900 for the re-examination, that even non-reviewees of the ra gapuz review center benefited from the exam leakage and that results of the exam reveal a 43.8 percent passing rate.
rosero said the official results of the examination will only be release in two weeks time in the official website of the prc at http://www.prc.gov.ph and in leading national broadsheets.
earlier, a group of examinees petitioned the prc to postpone the release of the results pending the outcome of their request for the creation of an independent body to investigate the allegations.
the bon earlier dismissed allegations that ra gapuz "leaked" the test questions and answers to its reviewees saying that the accusation was mere black propaganda caused by competition among review centers.
but affected examinees and lawyers representing them said the bon is not the proper body to decide on the complaint because one of its members is being accused of leaking out test questions to a review center.

I reviewed under Prof. Ray Gapuz for the June 2006 exam and feel so bad that his center is being accused of such. I've never enjoyed a lecture in my entire life until I attended his. He has a great heart heart for the Filipino nurses and a generous heart for all. I'm praying that God will intervene on this issue for all of us.

i was reading over the recent posts here in the thread, and some of you seemed to be confused about the alleged "leakage" last june 11 and 12 exam. im actually over the issue, but i just want to share a little experience about the incident.
to everyone who is totally confused whether the issue is true or not, i'd like you to know the leakage is true, because i was an examinee in baguio, and i was able to read a copy of it myself after the exam.. the person seated in front of me was reading the leakage a few mins befire the tst 3 started pero di ko alam na yun na pala yun. i thought it was just a reviewer or something. then after the exam i was surprised to see those who were wearing the white jacket with r.a. gapuz at the back holding the same kind of reviewer...whats even more weird is, they were all smiling and laughing when they got out of their rooms right after the 3rd exam while some of us were really frowning cuz u have to admit some items there were pretty difficult... a cousin of r.a. gapuz who also took the exam (r.a. gapuz' province by the way is agoo, la union) showed us after the exam the leakage on tst 3 and psych containing 25 points of exactly the same questions with that of the exam and with the word "answer" written beside one of the choices. if you remember in the psych exam there were 5 questions about a character named "lilia" or was it "lily"? it was written in exact sequence of questions with the same character. thats one, another one is the part where they asked who will you talk to first if a reporter comes to the hospital and would like to interview the patient... some of you may have answered letter d which is to ask permission from the patient right? but in the leakage, the bon's answer is to talk to the nurse manager...most of us reacted but well, leakage is a leakage. according to his cuz it was actually given by the bon to gapuz before pa, but they just gave copies to their reviewees the night before the exam. how did he get it? he has a house in baguio and he invited the bon to stay in his house for a visit.. being their "anak-anakan", you can already guess what happened next.
i have to admit i was dismayed and cried when i saw the leakage ,cuz i thought it was so unfair for ppl who studied so hard just to kick ass in the exam, much more for those who opted to have self review instead of attending review centers because they cant afford to pay thousands just to go through intensive reinforcement programs. i thought its useless if i protest or anything to that effect, because thats how they play the game.. and no matter how they try to push through with the complaints. prc will definitely deny the accusations so as not to ruin its "friendships" and negotiations with bon and the review center. see what money can do..besides, this is not the first time that a leakage came out in the nursing board exam...so its better to ignore it, than eventually benefit nothing out of it..
so there, enough said... its up to you whether to believe it, but there's one thing for sure, god knows i hold the truth. :-)
its just but right to bury this issue kc its useless lang, whats important is we all did our best for the board exam, with constant prayers and a positive attitude... goodluck to everyone!

hmmm..I really think there's a leakage but then what else can we do, I am not paying so much attention to it because I studied and worked hard for that exam and I did my best, hope the result will come out anytime this week..........

.......Hi..just want to comment on this because I personally reviewed in the same review center that is being accused of producing the leakage, however, I would like to say that I never was able to get a copy of the said "leakage"..It seems unfair that we are accused and judge as to having that said copy. And that if in case the results come out and say, we pass we shall be branded to have passed because of the said leakage...So unfair!

Gapuz here in manila for the reason that it is the most accesible review center from my place ( aside from reading from the papers of its high passing rate) and i'd like to say that we were never given a leakage during the closed door reveiew a day before the exams. Nor was there a leakage given after the first day. Like others, before I enrolled in the said review center I have heard rumors about the so called leakage given during the closed door, however, there were really NONE! In fact after our closed door I stayed up until the wee hours to still review the materials given to us during our closed door but they were so FAR from what came out during the actual exams. That is why me and my friends who were onrolled in R.A. Gapuz feels so bad that we ae being judge by the public. It is so sad that this is happening, we are all victims here..All we wanted was to just take the exams and pass for our future and the future of our families. I just hope that people will stop judging, especially us, who reviewed in R. A. Gapuz. And in all fairness to Mr. Ray Gapuz, he is really a good hearted man, you will see and sense that during the review period. You will never hear him say anything negative against a competitor while other review centers just can't stop saying bad things about our review center just to make their enrollees feel that they are the best.. Why I know this? It's because my friends and I enrolled in different review centers and we compare each other's progress in our review. And there was never actually a day, they say that in their review center, their lecturers just cant help criticizing our review center. They try to win others trust at the expense of others, something that Mr. Gapuz never did. All he ( Sir Ray)did was to keep on motivating us that we can make it. He uses positive reinforcements all the time and never was there a moment during his lectures that he criticized another review center.
I just hope that whatever it is that is happening now, may we all just stop accusing and judging each other and just continue to pray that we all make it.

Hi! But I have this feeling that Gapuz really has the leakage but dont get me wrong because I am not judging you or anybody who reviewed in Gapuz. My friends reviewed in Gapuz Manila and when they have the two week break to process their papers, we talked about the flow of their review and my friend said that she is excited for the "final leakage" because one the guest speakers in gapuz said that he is not admitting nor denying that there will be a leakage, and I have heard a lot of stories from people who reviewed there. Anyway I just wish that the result will come out, Goodluck to all of us at least we did our best and did not just rely on the "leakage" thing that they are talking about!
