June 2006 board passer from the Philippines with no proof of test 3 and 5...

I am tony from the Philippines, 6 years ICU/CCU/CVU staff nurse in a tertiary hospital in Oman and Philippines. I am currently residing in Canada but unable to write the CRNE exam because of the ruling;

Applicants who wrote the June 2006 licensure examination in the Philippines must provide proof of having successfully completed the special voluntary examination, which was authorized by the Philippine Department of Labour and Employment (DOLE), Parts III(3) and V(5). Successful completion is the achievement of a score of 75% or better on these sections. "

My life now has been devastated by that news. I have been practicing my nursing profession with utmost safety and care to my patients more than half of a decade now, but still my license is considered tainted. I have all the proof of good standing of my nursing practice but the fiasco of controversy still haunts me. My question is where do I go now from being devastated? I want to become a nurse again and serve the country of Canada... Is there a province of Canada who does not have this kind of rule?

Please help me! :_(

I suspect this will be the same for all provinces due to the big issue of the exam in 2006

Yes, I remember that scandal in the Phils, wasn't there something like over 40,000 examiners that were so affected by the cheats of several and there was an executive order to everyone to "retake" the exam, but understandably so many were opposed that honestly worked hard for the 4 years who took the exam without cheating.

It does pose the other question of what about the previous years? I'm sure there are those that "cheated" their way also. It was just in 2006 when the leak happened. But I thought it was also the test examiners officials that were the guilty party not the actual test takers.

Are you able to re-take the exam back in the Phils? If so, I would think this is your only option. I'm not sure if they have a special testing exam of part 3 and 5 alone still versus retaking the entire parts. Good luck!

Don't be devastated. You have experience and you know in your heart you are a safe and competent nurse. Just take the damn test and be over with it. Act and deal with the cards you are dealt with. Don't sit around and fret. The whole thing sucks but it is not the end of the world. It is a terrible setback and injustice but to fret and dwell on it will not lead you anywhere. Don't let this injustice prevent you from what you dream to be.
