Hi everyone,
I was looking through allnurses to try and find a discussion board about the July 2019 Cohort for THR's Versant residency, but could not find one- so I decided to make one!
I'm curious to see how everyone else is doing with their application processes, and hope we can offer updates for one another.
Best of luck to everyone !
I applied right when the versant program became open, I believe the first week of February? My top choices were OR, ED, and ICU. I interviewed on 03/18 for OR so it took a while to hear back, but I did receive an offer 2 days later. I know some hospitals do second round of interviews for residency later in the year. I believe Parkland and UTSW opens again in August. Keep your heads up!!
Parkland runs different residencies all year long. They do not have a set time where all residencies happen. Some specialties do two or more residencies a year; some just one residency. If they need fewer than 5 people they don't do a residency at all.
Dallas has a TON of nursing schools in the immediate area churing out new grads every few months. Getting a new grad position here in acute care is highly competitive. If you have an ASN instead of a BSN you are facing an uphill battle. Consider looking outside of the DFW metroplex in areas like Sherman, Waxahachie, Witchita Falls, Tyler, etc.

thats what mine say too!! im gonna assume we're still being considered until we hear back saying we got denied or something! I just dont get why its so hard here cause where im from it was not this hard for anyone to get a job in Virginia!
