JU (jacksonville university) ABSN 2012

Is anyone else out there applying for the 2012 accelerated BSN at Jacksonville University?

I'm applying to their Summer 2012 transfer program.

SirCamron,

Have you submitted your application yet? Are you applying anywhere else? I have found the process of applying to nursing schools a little frustrating at times but I am looking forward to getting into a program.....fingers crossed.

I have not submitted an application yet. I just got accepted into the school on Tuesday of this past week, so I still have to prepare my application as far as getting my recommendation letters completed and such. I plan on submitting it no later than mid November. I'm planning on applying to UNF as well if I can find the time to study for the TEAS test. The different processes between schools can be a little frustrating but if you just relax and take it one step at a time, you should be fine. I also hope to get into a program but it is very competitive so I'm staying grounded and crossing my fingers as well!

I am applying to JU for 2012 second degree program. I am hoping to get. Its hard to tell what they weigh heaviest after reading through the previous threads. Main things i deduced was that there are a lot of people that turn down the seats to go elsewhere and also that the GPA req. is not near what some other schools are. I think the interview is a pretty decent component. I wish they used the TEAS in their calculations. I scored in the 92nd percentile. Hopefully ill get accepted.

Has anyone heard what the average GPA of students accepted is?

Read some other threads about people having a 2.9 and getting in.

Hello everyone, I am also applying to JU and UNF's summer transfer program. I am very nervous about getting bc my GPA is only 3.70 and from reading the past threads, that may not be good enough. I still have to take the TEAS test as well so I need to blow that out of the water in order to make up for my GPA. Can anyone tell me exactly what to expect from the TEAS test and is the book helpful?

I just applied to JU!

I heard that the average GPA is around 3.5 and they have 41 seats!

I didn't apply to UNF because the advisor told me the average GPA last year was 3.77 and they only had 120 spots for the 2000 people that applied...those odds were too outrageous for me!

is the average GPA of 3.5 for total undergrad work or just pre-reqs? I wonder how many people on average apply to JU's ABSN?

You should apply to UNF also no matter what. You have to have at least a 2.9 to be considered. You never know. Both of the schools have pretty high odds.

That's a good question. They said you don't even have to be finish with your AA to apply so I don't know which GPA they look at. I heard there was an average of 300 applicants last term.
