I am applying as a transfer to JU nursing for fall 2011. does anyone know anyone that has gotten accepted? or anyone that is applying? any feedback would be awesome!

They provided question to us on l

My essay was one page and I believe the other two applicants stated the same. We each had a different essay.

Hey everyone ,

I applied to JU and went to the interview already now I am just waiting for the acceptance. But before I make any decisions I will like to know more about JU.

I dont know much about JU and I am not from Jax. So I wanted to know input about the university and the area. Is it a good program? How is the neigborhood and the surrounding areas? What to expect . I have heard stories and I am a little nervous about that. Please give me inoformation. Thank you in advance and Goodluck :-)

Hey everyone!

I just took the interview yesterday. I was a bit nervous about it. They did my interview different, it was two applicants and then two woman interviewing and asking us the questions. They were both writing a lot during the interview so it was a bit distracting. After the interview I realized I was "talking with my hands" a lot and I am not sure if that was good, but my mom said it showed that I was excited. I also read in previous forums that grades are not important to them, its the interviews. I am soooo nervous about it. I wish the best of luck to everyone!

SheaNicole, I'm sure you did great and wish you the best of luck! Are you a transfer or 2nd degree student? Have you heard how many applicants will be accepted into the program?

I am a transfer student. I called them and they said they are accepting 55 students total. I am not sure how many are transfer and how many are second degree. I think I will call on Monday to check.

I assumed it was around 55 by looking at the open seats in the fall classes. Let me know what Chris says ;) Have you applied to FSCJ?

Okay I will.

No I didn't apply there. I looked it up but all I could find was a program for the ASN. Is that the only program they offer? I just finished my AA in prenursing so that would be a waste of two years if I were to go get my ASN :-/

They do have a B.S.N Nursing Program. So have you taken your boards? If so, you have more options available to you at any school:)

No, I was just planning on getting my AA then BSN then eventually my masters to become a CRNA. What is the boards?

It is turning out harder than I expected. I spoke to someone before my interview and they said that since the economy is down, a lot of people are in search of a new and stable job, which is nursing. They said the amount of people who applied is a lot larger than the previous years.

Oh, I misunderstood. I'm sorry. I thought you already had your asn. I'm going in the same direction as you, CRNA :) I've heard the same as far as the number of applicants this year. I just have trust that the school is seeking out those of us who are the most well rounded, as I've heard they've done in the past. It's definitely competetive though :-/ we just have to hope for the best.!

Really? Thats great! Where do you plan on going to grad school?

And yes, I've also heard that they have accepted students with 2.9 GPAs and not others who have 3.8 GPAs. That makes me a little nervous since I was hoping my GPA would get me in. I just wish we didn't have to wait until June.
