Congratulations! 🙂 May I ask what your statistics were? (GPA, extracurriculars, etc…)

Hi! Congratulations on your huge accomplishment! Can I ask what were your statistics when applying? (GPA, work experience, etc…)

Hi sorry I never saw I got replies! Thank you so much for your kind words!

My stats were a 3.79 GPA from a UC (major Psych & Brain Science). I had two professors (with whom I earned an A+ in both of their classes) that are part of the research faculty within my university I received my Bachelor's. I also had my general manager of the grocery store I work for write me a letter. As far as experience, I have none. The closest I have is that I received my EMT-B certificate in 2021, but never worked as an EMT. I had an A in all of my pre-requisites. I'm not sure what other statistics I can share, but I do feel as though I had a strong interview and personal statement talking about my life experiences and why this led me to nursing. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Wow you are amazing! Thank you so much for getting back to me, I truly appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. You earned this, I hope you celebrate! Did you participate in any research during undergrad or work in a research lab etc...? Thank you so much for your well wishes, I deeply appreciate it and I hope to see you in the fall!

Thank you! I opened that email-- immediately started bawling my eyes out. JH has always been a dream for me.  As far as research goes, I ran a research study for an Attention Laboratory Class & presented it to classmates and faculty. That was the extent of it though.

I hope to see you in the fall too! You got this!

Yes of course! I had a 3.643 GPA from a UC (Psychology, B.A.). I took a gap year to finish pre-requisites (I got mostly As, some Bs) at a community college and asked two of my CC professors to write me a letter. I also volunteered at a hospital and asked my volunteer supervisor to write me a letter.

For healthcare experience, I was a hospital volunteer (a little less than a year) during my gap year and when I applied to JH, I had just gotten a new job as a medical scribe at the same hospital (less two months experience). I was also a PT aide for 3 months prior to that. I did no research, clubs, etc. during undergrad.

Like someone else said, I think my personal statement and interview also carried my application. I spent months writing that thing, so I can only hope that it was effective in admissions decisions somehow.

Hope you hear good news soon! Let me know if you have any other questions 🙂
