U.S.A. Maryland

Published

Hello!

I applied for the early acceptance BSN for the fall 2012 cohort. Has anyone else applied early acceptance and heard back yet? I am anxiously awaiting their decision!

Thanks!

vnmeltzer now u can stop stressing lol. hope to meet you all.on April 20. If any of u wish to applu for SON Fin Aid today Mar 1 is the deadline.

haha believe me I have stopped stressing... somewhat. I've just gotta get these prerequisites done. A&P 2 exam tomorrow and nutrition on Monday. Plus I'm still waiting to hear from Maryland CNL.

For those that have been accepted... what area of nursing are y'all looking to go into? I definitely want pediatrics, I'm thinking oncology.

Haven't heard anything from Johns Hopkins. I applied regular decision for Fall ABSN. Is there still a chance to get in? Who can tell me how they send the rejection letters, by Email or by mail? I wish I can know the result as soon as possible so that I can move on earlier.

does anyone know when the financial packages are supposed to be ready?? i can't make any decisions until i find out about the money ;)

I wish I knew about financial aid... does anyone know how much need based aid they give out? I made virtually nothing this past year and I'm an independent student so I really am counting on this financial aid. If push comes to shove, I'm willing to take out a big loan.

Does anyone know how big the fall 2012 cohort will be?

hey, i called earlier to talk to JHU financial office and they said the results will be out around mid-Apr. I am new to this site and also in the same situation like you. I wish they could tell me if I have got enough money to go to JHU. Good luck.

Hey adlog, i am new to this site and glad to find you guys out here. I am also going on April 20, and hope to meet you there. As for financial aid, called in earlier this morning, they said the results will be out around mid-Apr. I am a bit concerned about if I don't get enough enough to go to JHU, any thoughts?

Hi azchl. i'm hoping for aid as well and u have been looking into scholarships. jhuson has a helene flud scholarship avail for 16K ea for 20 students- deadline is Apr 1 for fall 2012 cohort. i've also resrarched on google but the deadline has passed for most. HRSA also has a program. check out their site

I'm not really sure of everyone else's situation, but I'm prepared to take a significant loan out. I'm 24 and will graduate from the program at 26. I won't have anyone else to support for a few years after graduation at least so I plan on living on $20,000 a year and putting the rest of what I make as an RN to my loans to pay them off ASAP.

Also, I have no idea how financial aid works. kind of silly, but my parents were upper middle class and I qualified for nothing but now, as an independent student who makes barely anything I'm crossing my fingers that means hopkins grants. who knows... ha.

Yeah I spent a lot of time freaking out over how expensive Hopkins is. Until I made an actual chart of all the schools I've applied to, what they cost and what I might get in aid. Turns out that they're all pretty much the same (with the exception being the state school). It was even more shocking to realize the Hopkins was only about $2000 more expensive than a school that is only known locally to me! I'd gladly fork over the extra $2000 for the Hopkins degree. :D

As a side note vnmeltzer, I saw on the summer entry thread that you went to Goucher. So did I! Small world I guess. I graduated in 2011. We'll have to import HvZ or some deer if we miss The Bubble.

Hey Spoon! Yeah very small world. I actually live with someone from Goucher that graduated in 2011! So have you been accepted to Hopkins/are you going?
