John Hopkins All childrens or UF Health Gainesville NICU

U.S.A. Florida

Curious if anyone works in the NICU at All Children's in St. Pete or NICU at UF Health Gainesville? Thinking of moving back to Florida but have never worked at either of these places. Just wondering if either are good places to work, good to their nurses, understaffed, floats to other units, gets put on call a lot ,etc. Any insight would be helpful.

I would also be interested in people's experiences at these two facilities.

I'm also an experienced NICU nurse at a level IV NICU, also considering a move back to Florida. I'm open to anywhere really, I'm just looking for decent pay and supportive management, and no bullying. Sick of the crap that goes on in my current unit, and I could use more sunshine in my life ?

I live in the Tampa Bay Area.

The cost of living here is absurd. I live on the outskirts of the metro area because nurse wages are not what they should be here. They're not awful but they're not great.

The traffic and commute is ridiculous here. There's so much construction here - roads and housing mostly - with no infrastructure in place to support the rapid population growth.

As a lifelong Florida resident, I cannot wait to get out or to a more rural area once I'm able to. Sure, Florida can be cheap, but Hillsborough County is the auto insurance fraud capital of the USA so our rates are triple what we paid in Miami. USAA won't even insure our house because there was a very minor, man-made sinkhole 1.5 miles away.

If I could move to the Gainesville area right now I would choose that over here. I've worked with nurses from both facilities and have heard nothing but great things from both but can't provider anything specific.
