Our hiring has finally slowed down We are still hiring new grads but only those that are already nurse externs and then not all the externs are getting hired. I guess we are also looking for people with recent acute care experience.

I agree - it seems that most of our urban areas are pretty well saturated with new grads. I am sure that there are still jobs in more rural areas & the Valley.

I'm a new graduate nurse, and I'm finding it a bit challenging to find a job. It's competitive out there for the internships. It's especially hard if you want to go into a specialty (NICU, PICU, ER). There ARE students who got jobs right out of school, but that was mainly in Houston and some in San Antonio. There is very little hiring happening in Austin that's where I wish I could be, but no luck for me.
