Hello Everyone,
I am currently finishing my pre-reqs for the UIC BSN program. I plan on working for about two years to get experience & going on to get my FNP. I want to work in a family practice. I was just curious as to how difficult it is to find a job, right out of a BSN program, in a family practice. Also, how difficult is it to find a job as a FNP in a family practice? I live in the Chicago suburbs(specifically Plainfield) and want to remain in the area (I hate my parents b/c they make me love the so much, otherwise I'd move somewhere warmer :) ). So, if anyone would have specific info on that area that would be even more helpful. Thanks bunches & God bless

You want hospital experience before going to NP school, not working in a family practice office.
Right now, I would worry about getting into the actual nursing program. Your goals may change many times before you graduate. And once you begin working, you may decide on a different specialty................

Thanks! I know I still have a couple years but I just can't help being one of those people that thinks ahead. Take care & God bless, CLK
