i am planning on becoming an RN. I really hope to work in the labor and delivery unit. I would like to know what all of my options are before i do this. I would like to work with women before and after birth. I know there are labor and delivery nurses, doulas, midwifes, ob's, and fertility specialists but is that all? what could i do that wouldnt take any more than 2-4 years? thanks
also, i am currently a CNA could i volunteer at a women's clinic or work anywhere to help this future career?

I'm thinking that this post might be better placed in the OB-GYN nursing forum.

Sounds like you could do well as an OB Tech. They are basically like a CNA in L&D. They assist the nurses with patients or stock the OR for C-sections. There are other posts about this position here.
i have never heard of an ob tech but i will look into it thanks a lot!
