hi, a newbie here in allnurses, so pardon if i dont know where to post this query of mine. i have a question regarding the job offer for nurses or employment. will there be instances that job offer for nurses will be lost? i mean, my pd is 2007 and while retrogression is ongoing chances are it will take more then 5 years before i can immigrate to the us.

Yes job offers can be lost and usually means the loss of your file unless you find a new employer quickly and able to use same file number therefore keeping in the same place in the queue

thank you silverdragon. how will i know if my job offer is still there and what happens if the job offer is lost and i wont find a new one before my pd? thank you

You should be told by your employer if you have lost your job, that is what happened to me several years ago. I just had approval and my employer backed out. Your PD is tied to your job so no job means no application because you need certain information when you go for your interview

I would expect that most job offers would be lost.. what type of employer can wait 5+ years for someone to start working for them?

those employers sponsoring for EB3 visa can wait for 5years or more for their hired employees to get in the US and work for them. so it's important for their expected employees to keep committed with them since they spend thousand of dollars for immigration process.

However the employer can still withdraw, this happened to me back in 2004 before retrogression and once employer withdraws job then PD can be lost

yes, employers do always have an option to withdraw their sponsorship. what i'm saying is that EB3 sponsors are those employers who are willing to wait for long years to bring their hired applicants to US and work for them since they are very much aware of the on-going retrogression.
