Job offer then ghosted

Hi everyone! I'm a new grad and have begun the process of applying and interviewing for RN positions. Before I had an NCLEX date even I got a call from a company who's recruiter was at our graduation ceremony. They wanted to interview me. I interview and it goes great, job offered and they're eager for me to call when I have my test date set. About a week and half later I had passed my NCLEX and call back. They can't find the person who job offered me so I leave a voicemail with the good news. No call back. Called again the next day, sent to voicemail. No call back. No calls today either. What's up? I don't understand why I'm not hearing back from them!? Not to mention I think it's super unprofessional. My husband thinks I should go there in person, what do you guys think?

Healthcare bureaucracy sucks. But my #1 feeling is until you get that formal offer from HR and sign it, nothing is certain. Promises can easily fall through without it in writing, even if it was from the DON. Best of luck!

My first thought is that the person who made yhe offer is on vacation. It's not necessarily unprofessionalism.

I would keep looking, but if my heart was set on this particular job I would also keep pressing for an answer, via email, letter or by showing up in person. I would not try the same way twice.

Wait a week, call one more time and send a letter like another poster mentioned. Then keep looking. I also liked the idea of shadowing them if they do call back to get a better sense of what kind of ship they run.

I had an employer call me after 1.5 months after the interview. I had already accepted another offer and they were understanding. I imagine they extended an offer to another candidate and, when that fell through, they called me back... Stuff happens.

The lack of professionalism in this business lately has been shocking to me. There is a lot of unprofessionalism in the Bay Area. I have never encountered anything like it in my life. Rude Rude recruiters. Managers won't email you back. Never seen such unprofessionalism.

I once applied at a temp agency that kept me waiting 90 minutes for an interview, rushed me through a typing test, and finally called me back about an assignment 11 years later.
