I work at a hospital now and I would wear a simple professional outfit, hair off of your face and minmal makeup. Also wear your smile! I brought copies of my drivers license, resume, social security card and CPR just in case. I also looked on youtube for good questions to ask the interviewer.
I got the job that day.
I just got hired at a major hospital for a patient care tech job. Make sure you go over what could be CNA interview questions, for example;
Tell me about yourself
What are your weaknesses (by the way don't tell them none coz they'll know your lying) what I said for me was I could be shy at first but once I meet and get to know my co workers I could be a little talkative.
Tell me about the time you made a mistake at your last job
Why did u leave your last job?
What are your short term and long term goals
Why do you want to be a Cna?
What do you think is the difference between working at a Long term care and a hospital?
These are some of the questions I was asked
I wore a simple light pink blouse and black business pants and heels, natural looking make up and my hair tied
I had a binder with me with copies of my resumes and IDs, certifications etc.
Good luck!
The previous advice is all good advice. Also, to help prepare maybe have a friend or someone hold a mock interview. That way you get practice with answering questions on the spot. Even better, a lot of schools have a career center. You can go there for mock interviews, help with choosing an appropriate outfit, questions to ask, etc. I would recommend looking into whether or not your school offers this service!
You're welcome..and btw make sure u prepare questions for them also makes u look much more interested in d position. ..
What to ask interviewer
How many cna's would I be working with?
How many patients would I be responsible for?
How many charge nurses on the floor?
And do some research on the company too, it'll help a lot..coz you migh be ask why do you want to work for them..And also they're going to ask you about somewhat would you do in a certain scenario...don't forget to look back on your past experiences and incorporate that into answers..
Hi! I just received a call back from a hospital regarding a nursing assistant position and I'm completely stoked. I'm about to start my second semester of nursing school and have been trying for months to get a hospital job. I have an interview in 3 days, and I would love some advice! What to wear? I was thinking professional of couse, slacks or skirt but a top I'm unsure about..button up?
My hair? Makeup?
And any interviewing tips?? I've been to plenty interviews but never as important as this (to me!
) its the best hospital in my area and I know it will be extremely beneficial for me when I finish my program and become an RN. So I'm super nervous and really want it!
Thanks so much!
Fully test out your interview clothes at least 1 or 2 days before the interview. Bend down, pick up something, and sit. If you see anything or you may have a malfunction, skip it.
Wear nice shoes.
I'd keep the hair neat and potentially pulled back. I would go lighter and more "natural" with makeup.
I have noticed that experience with customer service is very important. I would look up similar questions for retail positions. The ratings are important now.
Think of some future plans. I would encourage you to say you would like to work in that unit but don't lie. Pull positives.
