Does anyone know who is hiring in the healthcare profession or otherwise. I am a former special education teacher gearing up to apply to nursing schools and I wanted to get my feet wet in the health care profession. Unfortunately, it has been more difficult than I thought to secure a job as a unit secretary or patient care assistant/tech/associate/cna without experience or a license. Can anyone give me some pointers? Thanks so much.

I guess it depend on where you live but I saw on atlanta medical center web site they have a few positions for PCA and Techs if you haven't already looked into that
I have applied already and have received no response. Thanks though.

It is my understanding that you must either have finished your first semester of nursing school which is when you take Fundamentals of Nursing, or you must have a CNA certification in order to work as a tech. As for a unit secretary, I am not sure what is required. You may need to wait until you have completed your first semester, find out what hospitals you school has a partnership with and then apply.
