Hello all. I'm new here. I just got scheduled for my NET. I should be starting an LPN evening program in March. I'm super stressed out!
My boyfriend of 4 years and I are being forced to move out at the end of this month. We have an apartments lined up with some friends. With rent, car, insurance, various small debts, health insurance etc, I'm positive I won;t be able to quit my job(s) I work in human services full time and pick up hours as needed in Home Health (HHA.) Also, the school is about an hour from my house.
My question for you all is; How did you handle full-time work and 3-5 nights a week of nursing school?

I just finished an LPN program in december and I should be starting the transition to RN this January. I was able to work an average of 36 to 40 hour a week doing in home care two days a week. I was lucky because I could usually get a decent amount of sleep while being paid, and my weekdays were open for classtime and clinicals. I was also able to use the downtime for studying while my client slept.
A friend of mine was a bartender a couple nights a week, she made good money in tips.
Hopefully you can find something in your area that works for you. I am used to working most of my hours on weekends and odd shifts, because I have kids.
STInurse2007: Thats pretty lucky! Asleep overnights are hard to come by =D But thats definatly an idea for me! Thank you so much for replying!
