JFK MUHLENBERG LPN TO RN

Nurses LPN/LVN

Updated:   Published

Has anyone applied to the lpn to RN bridge program at JFK for Spring term may 2020? Did you get your acceptance letter if yes or no what was the turn around ? They confirmed my application on 08/02.

OK because mine didn’t come with any explanation just the check. One good think is I checked if my registration for May was still on the UCC website and it was. I know they are doing virtual sims right now for the students enrolled there so hopefully we’ll still be good to start after memorial day

I’m not sure how to register for the classes on the UCC website, cause it doesn’t really show how ? I only see how to plan them in your course work. But it says I’m a nursing Muhlenberg as my major. I’m not sure what to do as of now? Maybe to email them?

Hey I received a check that was for the tax refund In February. I guess it was the school fee that I paid. But no I haven’t heard anything back from the school yet either ?

I received a check as well, but sent it back because I am postponing my start til next may 2021

Hello everyone I was accepted into the nursing program and I wanted to know what to expect during my first semester.

Are you already an LPN I just finished my transition course, expect clinicals twice a week, mostly at JFK med ctr lecture is twice a week. You must complete your reading assignments take good notes during lectures, tests are based on the lectures and can get tricky you must understand concepts. It was a good experience and I will be moving on to Nursing 3!

It is doable, staff have been great to work and learn from. Everyone is supportive and want you to pass. It was slightly disorganized because of covid and having to be on canvas (ucc). The tests are proctored that is an annoyance.

Congratulations on moving up!! I'm super excited. No I am not an LPN. I will be starting the generic course. I have all of my pre-reqs except for micro. I just received my acceptance letter yesterday. I was unsure of what to expect since the course is only 3 credits. So there is clinicals for nurm119?

Hello - I was just accepted to this school for the Spring 2021 class and was wondering if there were any current (or former) students who would have anything to say about the program? Good bad or whatever... thanks!

LOL, nothing bad to say, it's going good, im in nursing 3 evening class. Lecture is on Mon and Thurs, I opted for weekend clinicals which is on sundays for 12 hrs, this is helpful, convenient because I work and have children.  Day shift have clinicals on Sat for 12 hrs. If you prefer clinicals during the week it's usually tues, and weds. Please keep in mind, weekends are an alternative and is at first request, first served. Weekends clinicals may not always be available. You must read your assignments and study hard. Lecture are on canvas either zoom, blackboard, or on webex. The professors and clinical instructors are extremely helpful. They really want you to pass, it's not a condescending environment. There is alot of paperwork, and powerpoints if you don't have a printer, you should invest in one. Also, have a computer that support downloading extra software. Exams are proctored via you computer camera. GOOD LUCK! If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

Nurse 119 I believe does not have clinicals, second semester does.

@melcuba OMG thank you and congratulations your almost done keep doing a great job. I just recently got accept and now waiting on register and enrollment. The financial team do they create all your loans with you or they provide the information and you do it yourself because to pay my tuition my job is reimbursing a small percentage after each semester

Thank you, I am in the lpn to RN program that's why im almost done. They help you with everything, you must fill out a FAFSA. They ask you if you want the loan, if yes then they will supply you with the necessary documents to fill out. It's a pretty seamless process. Their might be some out of pocket cost, the loan may not cover everything.I also receive tuition reimbursement through my union. After you paid for your term and completed with a passing grade the bursar's office will give you any documents needed for proof of payment for reimbursement. Staff communicates mostly through email and do reply promptly all the time.

@melcuba  thank you same here. My union well help as well. I don’t qualify for financial aid since I already have my bachelors so I hope they willing to work with me
