Jefferson FACT 1YR. Interview Question

Published

I applied to TJU's FACT 1 year BSN program, and got invited to interview for a seat. My interview is this week and I am curious what the likelihood of being accepted is, if I have made it to the interview stage. My original undergrad GPA wasn't stellar (2.5), but I got my priorities straight and got a 4.0 GPA for my prerequisite courses. Curious if anyone has any experience with this program?

I interviewed for this program, and it was fairly informal (this was about 5 years ago though). I would definitely reheorifice an explanation for your GPA and also how you turned it around with your pre-reqs. A one year nursing program is VERY intense and they want to make sure you can handle it, they will look for good time management, focus, and ability absorb a large amount of material.

That being said, pre-recs are challenging and getting a 4.0 shows dedication on your part. TJ struck me as a bit more practical and less "ivory tower academic," so they might be more understanding about GPA fluctuations as opposed to a school like Penn. The fact that you got an interview is very positive, so think about your other strengths and practice before hand. Good luck and keep us posted :-)

If you have been invited to interview for a seat, you're most likely going to get in.

I'm currently in the program. Don't stress and definitely do not overthink your answers. The interview process is pretty laid back and welcoming.

Unfortunately I did not get into Jefferson's FACT 1-year or 2-year programs. Now I have to figure out what to do from here. Are there any other comparable programs in the Philadelphia are that I should look into?

Look into La Salle's Achieve program.
